... Well just to connect one (or both) of the spare + / - icon buttons on my RS4 wheel so that I can fold them easily straight from there (for example when driving down a narrow lane)

Just to elaborate on my question ......... do you know what a 'temporary' earth pulse signal to the relay would do? Would it allow the mirrors to fold all they way or would they unfold as soon as the earth signal was removed. ? ............ just trying to figure out whether to use just the earth pulse direct from the steering wheel button or run the signal through a latching relay so that the earth signal output is permanent on or off.

You need permanant ground and not momentary
So you need a switch and not a simple button

If so did you bridge these pins with an additional wire inside the switch (or just outside bridging the wires in the loom) ?

Also ... I did not quite follow this part of your instruction: 'After this transformation needes to reverse the two cables goes to exterior mirror folding motors'

Hi Patric, the connection of pins 2 and 4 is into the mirror switch. Cut a small cable and solder those to pins.Becarefull the pin 2 has a small surface, dont put soldering paste to the slide surface(place where the rotor moving).
After the end of the modification, you will see that the mirrors do the opozite moving from this we want to do.So remove the exterior mirror painted cover and change the 2 cables to white mirror motor connector.

Well ....did the mod to the switch circuit board and put it all back together ..... and have electrical continuity between pin 5 (earth) and pin 4 within the socket when the knob is turned to the folding mirror position .... so all should be OK for the earth signal output.

Still need to do the whole folding mirror install (using the audi 361 relay) mod so can't test it fully yet though ... but if it works as per the video it will be great.[Y]

Hi Mate , 53 relay is 4 pin relay , the 206 relay is the same with 53 but do the opozite work.The 79 relay is the 53 and the 206 together.
So the 79 can be used as 53 and also as 206 relay
.For this mod you can use the 79 or the 206 relay

Hi , the 53 and 206 are 4 pin relays , but they do opozite work . See Graeme webspace the relays diagrams...
The 79 is 5 pin relay

I can use that plane and add the solution proposed by the creator of this post golfmk4gr? Or install the relay 361, another more effectively.

Hi Herman, if you want to do this mod , you have to install the 361 relay first.
There are 2 ways to install power folding mirrors to your car. The first one is via 361 relay and the second one is with vw original windows motors with power folding function( original way). If you choose the first one( non original) , with 361 relay , then you can do my mod with remote folding mirrors.

This diagram , show , how the 361 relay can work together with original window motors with power folding mirrors function.

I dont use those window motors .Just the 361 relay and the 79 or 206 relay.
