Well hello :)

Im Dan, currently 21 and driving my dream car a Golf GTI! After a year an half driving a 1.2 Fiat punto and another year and a half driving a 1.6 Golf Mk4, i can finally afford the running costs of a 1.8t so here we are!

Never really been a big car person, always wanted to drive but i always kind of thought the car modifying scene was just full of chavs! Signed up here when i had my problematic 1.6 and soon realised what i was missing out on!

Got a small list below of my modifications completed to date

Comments are appreciated, good and bad [ :)]

Sold my 1.6 (thread here) in April and two months later i found the lovely 1.8t i had been looking for.

Ive been updating my old 1.6 thread but decided to start a fresh new one just for her [:)]

Hoping to have more updates for this one.

Its a 2003/53 Golf Mk4 GTI 1.8t AUQ.

Mod list/To do list

Mk5 rear wiper

Sharan badge

Pressed plates and number plate LEDs

Stubby aerial

Pipercross panel filter

Forge 007p DV

JOMs

15mm front spacers

20mm rear spacers

Polybush top mounts

DIY US Spec rear lights

Destroy wood trim

Passat mirror switch mod (ordered)

Parking sensors

tinted side repeater

Powerflex dogbone bush

And this is what she looked like when i first went to view her.

My clay bar arrived so gave the car a good clean and clay and paint feels so much nicer.

Since
buying the car i found a few annoying little problems which i wanted to
fix.. First was the rear washer pipe had popped off by the C pillar and
was leaking water into the car. Sorry no piccies of this!

And
also on Mk4's that have a secondary air pump, the rivets are known to
slowly break over the years which lets air leak out when the pump is
being used. The pump only comes on when starting the car from cold and
as air was leaking out it gave a very loud vacuum type noise for about
90 seconds which sounded dreadful.

Pump out and new bolts in:

Also ordered a Mk5 wiper to tidy the rear up. Theres a seller on ebay that sells them complete for ÂŁ9.90 at the minute. They arent genuine but its good quality and well worth it for half the price

So i borrowed my girlfriends mummas camera and tried to get some better pictures!

The place i wanted to go was closed and i wasnt leaving without any so i found this random spot. Wasnt ideal really as the sandy coloured gravel doesnt contrast the deep black shine very well.

Ah well here they are..

Having never sprayed before i decided i would like to give it ago.

So got myself some basics from halfrauds and bought a black front VW badge and a sharan badge.

Sharan:

I bought it as it was already black, but it was slightly chipped and dull so thought it would be best to freshen it up

And heres them on the brum..

Really pleased with the outcome! [:)]

I like the dark stealthy look so ive ordered some black side repeaters, and also may get some light smoke lamin-x for the headlights.

Opinions welcome as always!

Thanks boys!

Well as i walked to work yesterday morning, looked over at my car and saw the sharan badge was still on. Got home at 5 and it wasnt there [cry] Had a look around the road etc hoping it had just dropped off but couldnt find it. Later that night had a a walk to the shop and half found the badge half way down the road! Its either been stood on and kicked about lots of time or has been run over a fair few times. Totally destoryed..

Gutted isnt the word as its literally taken me about 5 weeks and a full can of black paint to get it perfect.

Anyways bought another Sharan badge today so it will still look the same as above [:)]

Haha honestly Dan think im gonna leave it at 180 for a while, plenty enough power for me!

Got myself a pipercross panel filter and a Forge 007p fitted.

Makes the turbo abit more audible as i let off the gas/gear change etc which is quite addictive.

Next is to fit my Powerflex dogbone bush. Made a great difference to my old 1.6 so though why not try in on the 1.8t [y]

Just stuck on with some sticky pads, but hoping to get some number plate holders.

Not sure if i fancy the Wolfsburg VW ones again. Would love a set of UKMKIVs ones but dont think they do them anymore!

Thanks for reading and the comments mean alot [:)]
