dont think it will be a problem but you can also get some interior cleaning stuff for your seats

 

Well i've got the seats stripped down to change the heating element so thought it's be the easier option.

Don't want it to shrink (expensive mistake), but can't imagine it will be a problem on a 40 degree wash. I'll let you know how I get on.

came out like they were brand new

make sure you get all the metal bits out of the covers

had to dismantle my washing machine after forgetting one

done this on a set of RS Turbo recaros i was using to make an office chair out of. Like mentioned before, the covers came out like new and the colour of the water in the machine was disgusting. If youuse a delicates / low temp programme you should be fine.

Sounds like a good idea, would you have to unstitch the seat? Guessing not but I have never taken apart a seat to look haha

 

Well I tried it with the cover for the base. Washed on a 30 degree for 40 minutes.

It came out nice and clean but I can't help but think that the black colour has run into the silver/grey cheques on the cloth. Not massively noticable but i'm a bit of a perfectionist.

Guess i'll just have to take them all off and wash them!

 

Sounds good though, was it easy to take the covers off?

 

IVe got a carpet shmpooer that I use on mine and the water is black when its done, a washing machine would remove even more dirt.

Definately worth it but play it safe on the temp.

 

Short answer - no

I was changing my heated seat element anyway so had to do it. Not sure if it'd be worth it just for the sake of cleaning otherwise.

I satarted stripping doen the backrest too until I tested the element and it worked fine. The cover looks like a real pita to get off. Pretty sure getting it back on would be harder too. Will get some pics up of some things to look out for incase you're thinking about it.
