RCD 300 subwoofer?

Just wondering if I can run a sub and amp off a standard headunit (rcd300) in my golf? Cheers :)

You will have to use the speaker outputs as a high level input into an amp (I don't like this at all).

The RCD300 has no preouts.

I modified mine to have preouts but I still couldn't get the SQ I wanted. The bass and treble controls are woeful, the treble lift frequency is far too low meaning it just makes it sound harsh.

hi mate just put my sub into my golf today it is posible to do i used a line level converter from motorworld/halfords soldered into the back of my loom for the amp pre outs and took the 12v ignition live for the amp xiter from the back of the heater controls underneath the headunit i have got pics but dont now how to post them

Yes, possible but using the speaker outputs to gain line levels.

Most amps, like Kenwoods have high level direct input (no need for a seperate box).

Still, this is not the best for sound quality but it works ok.
