I'd like to see a black one colour coded, but the red one does look good!

I agree Jase, it needs something but can't put my finger on it.

I think a twin exit exhaust like the R32 style Milltek would suit it a treat.

I'd be tempted to fill the the gap between the rear valance and bumper, like in that photoshop Mk5 R36 pic.

Not a big fan of red, but I like the colour coding. In a black or blue it'd look mint.

I think the black bits only really suit a red or white GTI.

Thats nice. How I plan to do mine, using the Caractere rear valance and the twin "R32 style" Milltek system. (Or as Foxy likes to call it, Milltek Wheel Barrow System [])

Regarding cost, I just got a quote from Gorgie Dealer in Edinburgh, they said it would take 6h labore as they had to remove the bumpers and sand it down 1st.

It was about ?295 for every thing including VAT.

Mind you, he said that the paint job is warranted. With IMO is worth it.

That looks great. I will definitely be colour coding mine sometime soon(ish). IMHO the black plastic bits look horrible and really spoil the GTI.

 

Me thinks the black side-skirt looks the part. It connects the black bits on the front and rear bumper perfectly. I would not colorcode any parts of the car.

I am though contemplating on fitting the GTI side-skirt on my 1,9 TDI Sportline just to complete the lower end of the car.

It would be very easy because the red paint follows a moulding line.

Could you provide an estimate in terms of price?

 

I had quotes between ?200 and ?350 if I took all the parts off and put them back on myself (which I'm doing), and between ?350 to ?600 for a garage to do the dismantling, painting and reassembly.

 

I would code the side skirts and the rear valance as in the 2nd picture with the centre left as is but would definately leave the front spoiler alone as the red one looks OTT IMO but maybe it is just because it is red.
