Hi, as above i have no communication from my engine module, yet the engine does run and drive, i have logged onto my instrument cluster via VCDS and its showing (0) for ECU RESPONSE. Any one with idea what this could be or why? Thanks Joe.
Have you actually cleared the fault and it's coming back? Can you log on to the ECU itself with vagcom? I've seen that quite a lot on various cars, but has usually gone and stayed gone once it's been cleared.Hi, as above i have no communication from my engine module, yet the engine does run and drive, i have logged onto my instrument cluster via VCDS and its showing (0) for ECU RESPONSE. Can't clear the fault as i can't connect or log onto the ecu.Have you actually cleared the fault and it's coming back? Can you log on to the ECU itself with vagcom? If it does clear and doesn't come back and you can log on to the ECU, I wouldn't worry about it because the ECU is doing its job.
Jon.
Nope can't log onto the ecu itself with vag com. And when using the measuring block on the instrument cluster its showin (0) for ecu response, so no ecu response is being picked up.Have you actually cleared the fault and it's coming back? I have checked that there is power from pin 25 on the blue cluster plug and power from pin 37 on the ecu plug, there is power from both. The ecu itself is obvious working as its running the car, but i think the problem may lie between the cluster getting info out of the engine ecu, like a can bus problem.
Brake light switch mate i am about 99.9% confidentThe COIL (Glow Plug Light) is flashing on the dash and gives the message "ENGINE WORKSHOP" hence the reason for trying to connect to ecu.
The symptoms were the same m8, I would try this.Just sorted a similar problem on a skoda octavia. At first the car would turn over but not start. I scanned for codes and could not scan the engine ecu but it would scan all the other.
I changed relay 109 and the engine started and all seemed well until I tried to scan again and it just would not connect. Turns out the owner was having problems with the dashboard and had removed one of the fuses. When the fuse was put back in the dash stopped working but I could scan all the modules.
The fuse was the main one for the dashboard FUSE NO 11.
