I have come across a new problem today when starting up my car (MK4 GOLF 1.4E)
I was parked at a car park and when i started the engine, it went on for matter of seconds and then died straight away, which i found weird as it has never happaned before. I then tried starting it again it would make the start up noise but wouldnt start the actual motor. I had to leave it for couple of minutes, after which i started it up by switching the ignition on and reving the car.
Later on today (the same day as above) the car started perfectly and i drove to work until i had to drive to a shop on my break. After i parked up and needed to go off again the same thing happaned, this time when trying to rev it after a couple of times nothing happaned... I had to wait a couple of minutes and try again.
Here is where the weird thing happaned, i managed to start the car by reving as i did earlier (as this was the only way) however when it started i could not rev the car anymore, so basically when i had my foot down on gas nothing was happening... I switched the car of and back on, and managed to get it running again perfectly
so the question is, does anyone know what the problem could be? and if so how much are we looking at for the repair of whatever it can be, if anything?
