Well after changing the temperature sensor I took it to a local chap (Kalu on here infact) who ran the VAGCOM bits over it. Cleared the errors and (i think) reset the ECU...

So far, fingers crossed all resolved!

Ok, the temperature sensor replacement and ECU error wipe solved the issue for a while, but the problem is back again now!

I think I'm going to have to get it run past VAGcom again to get the errors.

Had the same problem with my 1.6 just on and off now and again. Very odd if you ask me. Good luck

I'm wondering if it's my MAF, due to the fact that I have to use the accelerator to get it going...guess I'll have to find a friendly VAGCOM user....

3- Replace MAF

3- Replace MAF

Stage 1 complete followed by an ECU reset. Will see how it goes and if it comes back...

just read this thread, i also get this problem, only happens like once a week to 2 weeks though, hasnt done it in a while, odd, and sometimes it starts and as soon as you stop winding, it cuts out again, but havent had this happen in a while either, maybe its becuase the weather has started warming up recently? [*-)]
