Aux Heater Problems

i recently brought a mk5 2005 gttdi once i did a scan it brought up

1 Fault Found:
00361 - Heater Element for Auxiliary Heater (Z35)
014 - Defective

i didnt even know what one was so i have done some digging and found out what it is for so i have been doing some digging on vag com and now im confused

got nothing happening on the messuring blocks:

but did a output test and it did this

next i looked in the coding and found this

its ticked on in the can gateway

but not in the cent elect

i did try turning it on but brought up another fault code

i am very confused can any one shed some light on this

Ive been trying to sort mine too. Ive found that its a 1kW element and all that requires fixing are some solder points. If yours is only getting to 600W ish then one thrid of the element is inactive. To fix, you need to withdraw and check for loose connections on the board for the heater.

I'm in the same boat now as you were and have found the heater ismore difficult to get at than the ones in the US. Ive yet to get mine out but im wokring on it today. Did you get yours sorted?
