I ask this as I have uprated the front tweeters and if the rears are a lower quality the original fronts then I will put the old fronts in the rear. If they are the same I will buy some aftermarket ones.

yeah new tweeters fitted fine. They were Longmill tweeters which is a brand from the 90s so they are quite old but used to have a good reputation for sound quality. I picked them up off ebay for ÂŁ9.

To fit them I cut through the goo between the plastic tabs and the tweeter on the rear of the sail panel. I secured the new tweeters in place with some quick setting epoxy. Did both sides last night by torch light.

I was also wondering the same thing about the rear tweeters, as I have CDT's in the front and the rears sound really low in volume compared to the crystal clear from the front so looking to upgrade the rears also.

You say you got Longmill tweeters, did you buy only tweeters for the front or were they components?

You still going to change the rears?

the longmill I think were just tweeters, at least thats what they were sold as, although they may have originally come from a component set. They came with their own X-over too.

The front mid/bass is a pioneer. My electric window mechanism broke recently and destroyed most things in the door inc the original factory speaker. So I picked up a set (again off ebay) of mid/bass speakers for a few quid. They are much better than the originals. So thats why I upgraded the tweeters as the high range sounded rubbish in comparison. Got some more mid/bass speakers coming, caliber competition (yet again ebay for a few quid). Whichever is the best out of them and the pioneers will go in the front and the others in the rear. Then it just leaves me to get some tweeters for the rear.

Ok cool, as i've got a pair of infinity kappa speakers which sound pukka but aint got the tweeters :( will need to look into getting this done.

Will most tweeters fit in the rear then? As in if I buy an aftermarket set.

just done the rear. The tweeters in the back are not the same, they are smaller and worse. The rear is easy to do, just carefully pull it off. Loads of space in the rear to add bigger tweeters etc. I ended up putting in some co-axials in the rear and I disconnected the tweeter. The new speakers arent the best but much better than the originals, much clearer.
