It does appear to be down to the ISP as long as the exchange is
enabled. My exchange was enabled ages ago, and BT said i couldnt get
2mb due to distance (even tho im less than 1k from it!)..... when i
switched to Freedom2Surf i was on 2mb within days!

Think I need to look into this after the holidays mate as BT seem to be taking my eyes out.

I stayed with BT as long as i did purely through convenience... it was all setup, no problems or anything.. but with the impending download caps and awful customer service (god damn those indian call centres!!!) i felt obliged to make the move.

You then realise there are some fantastic ISP's out there... im certain ive chosen one of the very best... brilliant customer service, via email and telephone... a cracking online account page which details everything from your next payment date to your individual daily usage totals. Brilliant.

And 2mb, totally unlimited for only ?24.99... plus webspace and unlimited email addresses... show me better!

I heard you can... but only if you sign up for that Pay as you Go thing they do, and you dial up once a month just to keep the account active.

BUT!

I never requested this... left BT (on bad terms after an argument on the phone when they kept billing me!), and 4 months on i still have my @btopenworld.com email addy working fully... i prepared a gmail account but still get my BT stuff forwarded to my account.

Pot luck really... i guess it shows just how useless they are if nowt else ;)

I was thinkg of migrating over to Nildram from Eclipse (who I have been very happy with, but for a few extra pence a month I can get double the speed)

I need to speak to Nildram about the migrating process as it say's on their website that you won't lose your internet connection while migrating, which I could really do with[H]
