Hi!

Anyone knows where I can buy new window regulator clips for Golf mk4? I've came across newer clips made entirely of metal from some american sites as opposed to the plastic ones that broke in my car.

Any websites you can recommend to buy online that does international delivery?

My regulator clips broke and I have to replace the whole regulator system including the metal panel according to VW dealer. That's rubbish!!![!]

That is rubbish about having to replace the entire panel, I know because I had to change my clips yesterday, but I don't know of any online stores that sell them.

These are the 3dr part numbers:

1JE 898 100 o/s

If you need the 5 door part No. then do a quick search on here for regulator clips.

its not rubbish, but as the plastic clips will brake again i suggust getting the reg with the improved metal clips that dont brake

the numbers are (off the top of my head)

I was gonna post this up, asking for the part numbers.. currently got my drivers window stuck up with duck tape !

THose numbers are just for the window regulators and they are the metal ones right ?

For the 3dr the part no's are:

1JE 898 099

1JE 898 100

Not sure about the 5 dr version but Dan, the repair kit contains the metal clips and the metal cables to connect to the regulator.

All well and good, but who other than a complete madman or Beetle driving fanatic would want the agro involved in fitting a poxy repair kit; when he could buy a nice shiny new reg. for less than 80 quid, fit it in half the time and know for certain that it was going to seal and work properly and not be distorted at all?[^]

I did my passenger side with part number 1JE 898 099 and it took 40mins and I only replaced the clips from the kit.

IIRC the repair kit was ?34

I too done the same. No point buying the whole kit when its only the clips that are broken.

When mine went it was still moving the window up and down alright, so the motor is fine, it was just creaking as I think one has gone and the other must be cracked or on it's way out.... So which bits do I need to do mine (drivers side) bearing in mind that the motor is fine.. just the clips.. I think ?!?! HELP ! Anyone [] Wanna get this ordered today or tomorrow at the lastest if poss ! []

You can't buy only the metal clips - they come in a repair kit for about ?27 complete with a new cable reel.

My drivers window is about to go very very soon! If the window is half way down for example and you close the door, you can hear the glass/ clips rattle, not a nice sound! Is the drivers side part no. 1JE 898 100? Would the best bet be to get the kit from local dealer?

mine just blooming went one morning in november, window fell right into the door and couldn't get it out, garage charged me ?200 to fix it said had to remove panel replace clip and something else! But had no choice as had nowhere to leave it unlocked with black bag taped over window.

Dread anyone touching them now [!]

True. But you can't be 100% sure its just the clips that are gone until you take the door apart. When mine fell, I though it was just the clips, but turned out the cables were all mangled in the reel.....so it was a good thing I had one in the repair kit!

Shame they gave me a reel for a 5dr in my 3dr kit thugh. Stupid VW! [!]
