Did any models come with heated seats (non-leather) as standard? (Whether it be Recaros or sports seats.)

If not, how common are these?

Reason I ask, is my other halfs sister is buying a 180bhp 1.8T which has heated leather sports seats, but she doesn't like leather so wants to swap them for some non-leather heated seats, the stealer said they would do it for an extra ?1,000[!][!][!]

But I've told her someone on here would probably rip her arm off for an offer like that. She also doesn't like the seats with the blue or red inserts, she just wants plain black, grey or chequered sports seats, or some nice Recaros. (The car is tornado red.)

first time I've heard of people wanting to swap from leather to cloth!!

The heated seats only come with leather or as part of the winter pack as far as I know. Very useful in this weather, especially if you're running a TDI.

er you lost me there mate - whats running a TDi got to do with having heated leather seats?

Reason is because diesel`s are so damn efficient there is little energy wasted to heat up the water in the engine so it takes alot longer for diesel`s to heat up when compared to petrol`s, I think diesel`s are about 70% efficient and petrol`s are 30 - 40% efficient! so in a petrol 60 - 70% of energy is wasted and a good percentage of that is given off as heat [^]

Ps - my blue/black recaro`s are heated as part of the winter pack [8D]

I have non leather heated seats as part of the winter pack. They are the black ones too and I love them. Strangely im not fond of leather either and am happy with the cloth interior.

Hopefully someone will soon jump at the chance to get heated leather in exchange for some heated cloth seats though.
