Hi all

only pop on the forum to read mostly, but ive been on for a good couple of hours and cant decide which custom remap would be best for me.

I was thinking of Jabba but its a 4 hour drive from Bristol :/

Could anyone perhaps name a company nearer to bristol that are good?

I have a mk4 anni with a forge 007 DV, and all i need is a good remap

Please advise

cheers

Hey,

Is it really a custom remap you are after? I looked at the jabba custom remap for my 1.8T, but as it was so far went for a Revo stage 1 remap. I would really recommend the map, its very smooth. Well worth the money!

If you're interested in the Jabba, then i'd say make a day trip out of it! It's a one off after all.

Im only saying that cos i think distance shouldn't be the reason you don't go, i havent remapped mine yet, so cant offer advice on which to go for.

I had the same issue as you RE choosing a tuner, but problem is, you're not gonna be able to decide off this forum since everyone raves about whichever particular place they got it done!

So see whichever service suits your needs best, go for it, and i'm sure you wont regret it

Good luck[Y]

I took mine to Jabba, I'm happy with the map but the customer service sucked, I left home at 6 and got there for 9.30, I was still there at nearly 6 due to one of their laptops dying and them then having to reamp my car again (7 hours on/off running on a rolling road is  known to be not good for a turbo car) . Theres a well respected guy down your way on the A303 I think not far from stonehenge.

Took mine to jabba a couple months back for the custom map, can't fault it at all!

Was a 3hr drive for me to get there, which was a bit of a pain leaving at 6am but thought it was well worth the drive, all in all it took them almost 3hrs to complete, left by 12pm and was actually glad i had a 3hr drive ahead of me! [:D]

As Dele said make a day of it!

I have driven three GT TDI PD150's with three different maps and this is what I would choose

1st Jabba, by far the best map explosion of power to 4,200 rpm violent acceleration

2nd Revo, not as explosive as Jabba's map felt slower, kicked really early but died after 4,000rpm

3rd OEM - I felt this was quite a poor map power wise feels a bit weak compared to the other two...didn't feel a huge amount different to standard, but very smooth gradual power climb right to 4,500 rpm with no tailing off nice smooth but boaring

Just to add the owner of the Jabba mapped car needed a new clutch after 3 months due to the huge hike in torque/power, the Revo mapped Golf needed changing after 12 months and the Chap with the OEM map is still on standard clutch after 2 years which shows how mild it is

cheers for the response all

is it only jabba sport that can do custom maps?

or do other companies do these

i read somewhere on here of one guy who has managed from a stock 1.8T 241 bhp with a custom jabba map

would i be able to get to this kind of bhp gain through any other company?

cheers

just incase anyone who is looking for a remap finds this post

id say dont think about it and get it done asap

(dont forget to advise your insurance) Greenlight were brillaint with this

gone from 180bhp - 200 something i would guess (will be going to a rolling road soon just trying to go with a group if anyone knows of an upcoming event

Badger 5 were great and bill did some data loggin which showed i needed a new MAF, got that today and its made such a difference,

wonder what will be next

thanks for all your help

ps if anyone cant choose who to get a remap with, dont worry there all kinda the same, just everyone will rave about the one they have :)

Why would they need the car for 3 days?

they told me:

1st day remove the ecu and send it to specialist

2nd day specialist removes and solders in new chip as they don't havethe equipment

3rd day receive and fit ecu

So i booked it in to revo who only need the car for an hour, achieve the same bhp and torque outputs and charge ?100 less
