Went to visit an Artists sculpted Garden near Edinburgh with my
other half for her Uni Dissertation, And the way out was confronted
with this. im not joking there must have been 70 odd in total.

My car is covered in Cow Slobber and ive got a scratch on the side of my tailgate.

Never been so scared for my cars safety in all my life, It makes my car park dent avoidal stress seem mild.

where abouts was this taken? Looks like where I used to live (Biggar area)

My scariest moment is being t-boned in the elise and pushed under an artic, next scariest was losing the backend of my cupra and leaving the road backwards. Luckily there was a tree in the way and it stopped me pretty quickly [:p]

Mine was taking a roundabout too fast for the conditions in the wet, understeering for England, lifting off, the back end stepping out, chasing the tail to try and get it, then leaving the road sideways, onto a pavement, between a tree and a lamppost, and ending up rolling back onto the road, car fully intact.

I got away with that one, and it taught me an awful lot. Namely, you cant drive that fast and, having recently passed my test, I really wasnt that good a driver as I thought I was...

Crashing a ford rs escort cosworth.

Car was doing 100 plus and left the road. I didnt have a seat belt on and remember holding onto the dashboard and headrest.

The trees and fence/wall was trying to get in...

The car flew around about 10 times before stopping.

Brand new cossie done 15K damage. Not one panel not damaged and no wheels on the car....nice

Then having to get a left back home from oxford in another car....the FEAR of every bend was scary

I've had 2 scary moments....

The first was as a 17 year old who had only been driving a month. It was between Christmas and New Year and VERY icy. I was just leaving the swimming pool and turned a left hand corner but the car went straight on and all I could see was a large metal gate and gate post looming. As an inexperienced driver my reaction was to slam the brakes on which obviously made the situation worse. Somehow I managed to steer the car through the gate and come to a standstill and not hit anything. I carried on but the road was to icy and I started sliding towards some parked cars on the left. I got out and was too scared to drive on as I feared I would lose control again and hit them. A lady in one of the houses saw what happened and came out to me and drove my car down to the main road for me where I carried on with my journey.

The second time wasn't that long ago, probably no more than a year ago. I was an experienced 27 year old this time. Driving in the outside lane of the M6 near Rugby and a 106 in the middle lane decides to pull out to overtake the car in front of him. Unfortunately I was in his blindspot and the twat didn't do a shoulder check. So out he came, heading for the side of my car. I had nowhere to go but swerve towards the central reservation. Luckily for me there was a slight space between the outside lane and the barrier which was enough for me to hold my hand on the horn and him to swerve back. He was so shocked at seeing me there and swerved back with such force that as he did so he lost control of his car and snaked back into the middle lane. Thankfully he got off at the next junction (which was about a quarter of a mile away anyway so I don't quite know why he was attempting to get into the outside lane, he should have been positioning himself correctly for the exit).

2 lane dual carriage way, i'm doing 90 outside lane; and a wagon pulls out to overtake another wagon - ARRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHH.

New to driving, paniced, car didn't have ABS, locked up and started skidding out of control towards an unavoidable 80 tonne wall of metal....

Managed to stop a few meters from him; didn't even think of using the horn, looked in the rear view mirror and couldn't see anything, just white smoke!

Lorry didn't even pull back in, too busy trying to keep his precious revs and overtake a 55.8 mph wagon at 55.9. f_cking a_sehole

Although, went round a bend on a dual carriage way doing 135+ to be confronted by 3 police bikes, 2 volvo T5Rs, and a Video Van.

On the brakes, backend swaying around, went past at about 90

Nothing came after me and heard nothing in the post they must have been having a brew. Not scared for my life, scared for my license - not sure which was worse.

I was so lucky. Lesson learnt, havn't been over 100mph since

Not had any scary moments for a while... im a sensible driver now (id take silly risks b4 when i was under 20)

Non crash scariest moment was in my old 206 gti.....

Inside lane going round a long right hand bend with a mk1 gti on the outside lane. (that thing was bloomin quick)

Feeling the back end sliding out @ 85mph, trying to correct it with opposite steering and then getting a very bad case of steering speed wobbles and very nearly hitting a wall .

Scariest crash i had was in my old 205 gti
Driving on a fast road across the moors at night going into a bend which started out as a gentle bend and then became severely sharp half way round.
.... thought i was a gonna.
(Car would have gone off the side of a very big steep hill and probably not stopped rolling for some 2000ft. (If you know the moor top road from colne lancashire to haworth bradford you'll know which corner im on about) )
God knows how i managed it but i ended up spinning the car 1 and a half revolutions and stopped in the middle of the road facing the wrong way. Absolutley shat my pants.....

I no longer drive like a D*CK[:D]

Another scary one, in my CRX, driving down a 30 road minding my own, when all of a sudden a motorbike a motorbike appears, accelerating hard towards me on my side of the road. The stupid tool had decided to overtake about 7 cars when he didnt have enough room.

Split second decision, motorbike and rider through my windcreen or hit the kerb at 30. Hmmm.

Needless to say, he missed me by inches as the n/s/f wheel hit the kerb and bounced off. Outcome, one seriously kerbed brand new 17" alloy, and tracking put well out, as well as a seriously narked driver. Did he stop. Did he feck. No point chasing a motorbike either...

I hope the guy has since lost his life for riding like that....

My scariest car moment was when i had got my golf and wanted to test it out so took it up to some speed... over the speed limit [] and out of nowhere a car pulls out i had to go in the outer lane as it was either that or go straight in to the back of him.. lesson learned me thinks.. so now i don't even drive fast just stick to the limits... also another brown moment is when my cosra (crap crap car lol) went straight in to the back of sonny at 10 mph as the car didnt have abs and somehow the brakes just wouldnt work.. i was like [] sonny was so close to kicking the day lights out of me.. but luckily he checked my car and he said the brakes are fooked so we went bk to the place where we baught the car from and gave them a mouthing as it was a new car with shot brakes...

being in a crash on my way to work when i was 19. narrow country lane. i was being careful (no more than 35-40mph) then a bloke pulled out from a junction; didn't even look my way! hit me on the offside corner; and did £1500 of damage to my mum's micra!! mind yu he was worse off as the corner went through his radiator grill!! His ended up at the scrappy and i drove home.....

he was a complete c**k though. threatened to punch me for making him late for work! yet he had 5 minuntes to travel 10 miles of narrow country lanes........even threatened to take me to court etc even though it was HIS fault!!! []

the other week i went for a drive and was over taking a caravan; had a clear view of the road ahead, thought i had plenty of room. then from nowhere a lorry appeared. i was just about halfway past the caravan and realised I'm not going to make it [:'(] jumped on the brakes and managed to pull in behind the caravan about 2 seconds before the lorry would have killed me.

Lessons i learnt is that a) only overtake on a very long straight piece of road! b) or maybe its time for a remap.........................

Nah - stick with a) i think!!!!

Mine would be my crash at 17...

Had only just passed my test, rainy Saturday night with a few mates on the way to pub. On a dual carriageway I'm doing 60mph and start to overtake a white 205 with blue flames plastered all over it. Just as I'm overtaking he swerves into my lane. Not having much experience, I slammed on the brakes and steered sharply in the pissing rain! Car rolled 3 times and my side went into a street lamp. We ended up the right way up although the dash and steering column/drivers door were trapping my legs. All my mates got out fine without even a bruise (and weren't wearing seatbelts!). I had an airbag and seatbelt yet managed to find myself trapped in my car :/

Fire brigade came quickly and cut me out after 30 minutes. Discovered that I'd broken my femur (thigh bone) and endured a very painful transfer from car seat to ambulance. Certainly changed the way I think about driving.

Probably in that Film Christine, when they are in the warehouse and the car starts up and flashes its headlights[:p]
Lol . i likes that one. Mines in Jeepers Creepers when the lorry comes chasing the car hmphmhmp [8-|]

Ive had many, involving oncoming cars, the usual under/over steer blah blah. It makes you think at the time but a few days later you forget .Never had an accident thats been my fault and im very surprised as i love to have a bit of fun, but im sensible and only do it whens its safe to...i plan ahead you see, i do get rather dangerous if other drivers nark me off...ill do close manouveres etc...anything to teach them a lesson

mines would have to be goin along the motorway about 9pm one night in my punto[:$] when i noticed headlights facing towards me [:O] it was actually a car that spun 180 dgs went backwards into the central reservation bounced back onto the road and flipped over at least 3 times then landed on its side with the engine still on and the wheels spinning like mad . I had only managed to avoid carreering into it by goin onto the grass verge , me and the driver of another car went to help and unbelievably there were 5 in the car 2 young children and not one of them had any injuries . seemingly the guy said a lorry cut out in front of him .

Had a couple of non fault crashes someone drove through red ligts and wrote of my 205 gti and shunted me into a cop car and broke a coppers pelvis.... didnt really have time to be scared though..

the worst was as a passenger me and my mate ended up going backwards at 80 mph in a saxo on a wet M62 before the M6 junction on a peak monday morning, it was my mates pure driving skill that got us out of it, a women swerved across three lanes for no reason at all missed the saxo by an inch, my mate cadnce braked but the car was still adament to go into a skid plus a 30 tonne truch had had to swerve into our lane, so my mate let the car spin didnt try to correct and as the car was at 300 degrees he snatched 2nd gear and nailed it and corrected the steering.... a full 360 on the M62 was bllody scary especally when ther is a wafon in the outside lane facing you throught the windscreen[:O][:O][:O][:O][:O][:O][:O][:O][:O][:O]
