This is my first Volkswagen, always loved the mk2 and mk4. The reason to become an owner of a veedub was re-inforced when I visited R-fest with work last year and saw all those immaculate R32's, and discovered uk-mkivs stand, it encouraged me go out and find a project car to restore. Still being young and with insurance and money being an issue I settled for a 1.4 but hoping for a future conversion to a 1.8T.

Unfortuantely it's in a pretty sorry state, previous owner thought this car was their home for them and their dog. Bodywork is looking drained, thanks of their job at spraying with Dragon Green and not Bright Green Pearl. Rear quarter was smashed but a little attention sorted that. Just to freshen up the Golf, I've fitted some new number plates + surrounds, fitted led sidelights and numberplate lights, and of course them all important aero wipers.

Current:
Lowered 40mm all round.
Rear Smoked Windows.

Plans:
Replace all panels that have overspray on them.
Give an extensive full mop, clay and polish.
Fit a Kamei or FK debadged grille to tidy the front end up.
Find a set of Recaro's to give the interior some attention.
Decide on a set of alloy wheels to give it a better stance.
Fit some central locking as sick of this key malarky.

good luck buddy hope it works for you [Y]
Luckily I have found a chap local that has nearly all the panels I'm after in the matching colour (so saves a spray job), so hopefully we can come to a deal, just want the car looking immaculate on the outside, there's a few scratches on the roof, just wondering if anyone could recommend a polishing kit to buy, there's a Meguiars one but seems a little pricey compared to some of the others.
Looks like a good starting point there mate! I used a sealer polisher and mega products when I did mine. But to be honest I'd say pay the extra and get the mega kit :)
Also mate you're missing the lower valance off the front bumper, but you probably know this already and you took it off yourself to colour code it or whatever haha

^^^^^ Cheers mate mine was in a sorry state when i got it had scratches and dings everywhere i looked !!!
Ahh, another green one about to be 'tweeked' i'll be keeping an eye on this thread. See my thread for in a sorry state, people must hate owning green cars or summit
Looking good, I know the splitter was missing that's been changed now. I've mainly been doing sensors/switches for coolant system, and not really bothered with body or interior yet, I have a few new shots I can upload. (thanks for for the picture inspiration)

I treated the car to an oil change (genuine parts from work) was running much more sweeter and a coolant change, kind of glad it didnt have the splitter on at this moment because I had to drive it onto the ramps, and thats a nightmare whilst lowered

.

Happiest moment of the month as well, car passing the mot after a shock, headlamp bracket, catalytic converter and a fresh bosch lambda.

Sick of the rubberised finish coming off the dash, but at the vehicle doing 146k and being neglected not surprised, I cleaned these down to bare plastic and got started on a stickerbomb project to freshen the interior.

Getting there....

Next: replace two o/s doors due to overspray, full machine polish, paint calipers. Was toying with the idea of spraying matt black.

Clear side repeaters.

Change interior carpet.

Get a parcel shelf.

I was sick of the interior being so grubby, and the carpet was a state from the previous owner, realised there was dog hair all in gaps you couldnt reach so I bought a carpet and decided to get cracking.

Amongst everything found bank cards, dominoes pizza delivery drivers slip, the card to where the windows must have been tinted about 4 years ago.

Looking a bit fresher now.

Perhaps recaro seats next, but first debate on spraying the golf mat
