been offered these rims.

would look fantastic on my bora.

however, they have a little damage.

a dent to the inner lip of 2 of the wheels.

the question is,

do you think these can be repaired?

or - will they be fine as they are

or - theyre wrecked

and mainly, will they be buckled???

Nice looking rims. tba unless i could try them with tyres, balanced on the car i wouldnt even consider them. Those dents look quite substantial. I have less of a dink in one of mine and i feel that at speed. Any chance you could take them to a wheel specialist for a pro opinion?

Best of luck

I would try to gt a professional opinion. To get two wheels kerbed like this,it's probably been a pothole,or a kerb that's been hit.

Look like replica RS6 style wheels to me, and being replica they are normally not made as strong as originals. I did that to my old wheels by driving over a pothole off the M6 two weeks after i got them and that buckled the rim.

They normally can be repaired - at a price. I was quoted ?70 to repair, but they were only ?90 a wheel anyway, so I claimed a new rim from the council.

Mate stay away from them, my experience with refurbed wheels is that they corrode faster then the originals.

Also that dent looks a bit to much imo.

Buy new and look after them, and youl have nothing to worry about.

I Had a MK2 16v with BBS wheels which looked much worse than that after I hit a large rock in the middle of the road.

One side was very flat and the front one actually cracked.

Got them repaired and drove on them for another 3 years without any problems.

I suppose it depends on how good the repairers are.

Personally I would stay well away. By the time you have had them repaired and paid the inital price for them you wont be far off what you can get a set of brand new ones for...

As others have said they look like they have been up a curb or in a pot hole at speed.

pretty much as everyone else has said really.

they are RS6 replicas and in answer to your first question, yes they look ace on a Bora, I should know! [8D]

however they look proper fooked mate and though they could probably be repaired why bother when you can pick up a new set of 4 with tyres for less than 700 quid?

Plus the fact that they are face down on a brick wall in the pics!

The front face probably isn't pristine anymore either!

Beat me to it. FFS if you're going to buy wheels off someone, don't buy them off someone who is so thick they put them face down on a wall!!!!!!!!!!

Personally i'd steer well clear mate... I had some BBS VZ rims on the Bora and hit a pothole, no visible damage at the time but 2 weeks later the tyre deflated rapidly, turned out to be a 3" crack in the back of the wheel which was spreading...! [:O]

Bearing in mind that BBS is renowned for their build quality it was quite a shock, i didnt even consider getting it repaired as my wife drives the car daily on the motorway and for the cost of a new wheel it was not worth the risk imo...

I would not get any wheel repaired now that had anything more than rim kerbing damage, especially replicas which can have quite suspect build quality as wheel failure at any speed might trash your motor!

As my old grandad used to say "For the want of a shoe, a horse was lost"

Just my 0.02p... [;)]

Dont bother. You need tyres for those, and RS6 replicas are so cheap to buy anyway you may as well get a set thats in decent nick - or even new

I once saw this poster which read .... " The bitter taste of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of the bargain has passed. "

Steer clear mate, you'll only regret it in the long run.
