J111ase im looking for a nice exhuast note, not tooo loud thou, but with a nice burrbleing popping sound under de-acceleration, i wanna go for a single or twin exit no bigger than 3" thou, and with price no more than ?300. Oh yer a nice lil increase in bhp wouldn't go a miss, Is there such a beast out there? [:)]

I do like my milltek a lot, BUT neither my local exhaust place or big boys toys (an authorised milltek dealer) could get it to fit properly. I had to take it to milltek's factory to get them to fit it. If your near nottingham, then get a milltek, and get them to fit it.

Otherwise, have you considered getting a custom exhaust made by the likes of longlife? I've heard good things about longlife exhuasts...I would avoid powerflow though, they use a very low grade stainless steel.

Other options I looked into were supersprint (meant to be excellent), Remus, and Sebring. The thing that put me off all of the above is that the exhaust tips sit too low, and can't be positioned perfectly in a V6 valance like the milltek.

Oh, just thought of another one, Jetex....they do an exhaust that fits nicely into the V6 valance, but it was more pricey than the milltek.

Fair few options there for you to think about now! [:)] I probably confused you some more lol! [:S]

As the standard VW system is already a good design, whichever exhaust
you choose you're only going to see a very, very slight increase in
bhp, perhaps about 3 - 4 bhp tops. For a bigger increase its worth
changing the downpipe and cat for a larger aftermarket downpipe and
high flow cat.

The statement about miltek above I have heard all too often. [:(]

Faisel are you sure about the fitment (alignment) with the supersprint... id heard it was completely the opposite that it was really good? having said that im talking about the 4motion which is already meant for an exhaust aperture.. which incidentally im gettin rid of anway... the supersrint 4motion exhaust is the same as the R32/S3 and TT so has interchangeable tailpipes... im just not putting one on!!![:D]

I'm quite sure about the fitment, as danyalmakda said, they all hang below the valance on the 1.8T. It might be different for the 4 MO.

You can't just raise them up into the cutout either, because they either don't line up or they can't be raised high enough....I forget the reason now. I just remember reading loads of posts about those other exhausts on vwvortex and how they wouldn't go up into the cutout.

Actually come to think of it, I think the milltek tailpipes have a kink in them as they leave the backbox, so they exit through the cutout. I think the remus, supersprint and sebring systems just exit straight out of the bacbox.

Makes sense now, the alignment is out purely due to the lack of aperture on the 1.8T's (bar the anni 1.8T of course) with the 4mo sytem its designed to fit the aperture (Same with s3, tt, r32 because of the 4wd setup) the fitment however im pretty sure is fine... (ie it all bolts together well), which is something that has let the miltek down.

my VW Racing exhaust is made for all but the 4mo.but you must have a 4mo rear valance fitted.

it fits up into the cut out perfectly, has two 3-4 pipes and has NO bends in the tail pipes to make it line up with the cut out it s just a perfect fit because its made for the car.

it is actually made by serbring for VW Racing.(its stamped with serbring on the box)but has VW Racing stamped into the end of each pipe.[H]
