You would be able to pick up a year or two old Leon Cupra R for around the ?12k mark with mileage around 20k, and a remap would take it to around 270bhp. But it depends on exactly what your requirements are mate.... fwd, rwd, 4wd??

Depends what you mean by fast? If you mean fast in a straight line/top speed it's a very different thing to fast in the 'real world', again top speed is a different issue. Fast round a track, hard to beat a Caterfield.

For all round speed/all weather speed on road I reckon a Mitusbishi Evo VI is as quick as it gets.

Of course we are talkig standard cars otherwise you could start to include turbo'd 4WD Novas in the equation.

I'm sure a R33 GTR Skyline could be bought for near enough that much.

Indeed they can. My mate had owned two. The first was about ?12500 but was a bit ropey. In fact, very ropey. However for ?15k he bought a total minter of an R33 GTR V-Spec with an official stamped factory Nismo 350bhp upgrade, a full UK history and even the Japanese manuals.

Personally I don't really like rice-mobiles but a Skyline really is something else. Very very special car.

Impreza is going to be the fastest/cheapest thing all weather road use (if you tune it)4 yrs old and in budget.

Could you bring yourself to drive an estate Impreza turbo with those awful bugeyes, if so the estate version is not a chav car. If so you could get one for 12K and another 1K on a tek 3 remap. Nearly 300bhp. But looks terrible.

Reckon it's going to be your fastest, non-chav option within your age range.

I take it this is to be a company car hence the 4 year old bit, unfortunately mine is 9 years old but with not much investment it can seriously move. It's completely standard at the moment, so remove the cats and up boost to 1.1 bar (fuel cut defender ad boost conroller is all that's needed) and you should see 380bhp at the fly.
