Been doing online quote with Liverpool Victoria and this came up,

'Has this driver been banned from driving in the last 5 years for anything other than a single speeding offence? '

Ive had points in the last 5 years, none valid anymore, but they are not asking for that are they??!!

Just wanna make sure.

Cheers

Yep they are only checking that you have not had a dangerous driving conviction or driving without due car and attention or drink driving speeding fines regardless of how fast you are only going to last for 5 years 3 on the police database but 5 for the DVLA, the only big one is drink driving where you have to declare upto 12 years from the date of conviction.

Hope this helps

Also, No main driver stuff, main drivers = whoever is on policy!!!

Know what i mean?? say you were named driver and your mum was main driver...if you crashed and they discovered your mum never drove the car and you drove it all the time, you may not get paid or will have to pay loads more to even premium up.

They wont quote me for the 4Motion online, but Directline, Priveledge, Egg and Tesco will. Whats with that? The latter quote £750 ish but I was thinking of the LV policy because of mods. Any ideas why they wont quote? Also Joey how competitive is there price compared to what you already pay? Ie do they whack on a heft premium for this any 'mods' idea?

With elephant at the mo, mums name policy, me main driver, alloys, bodykit, tints and lights was £890.

With liverpool victoria it is £348 mums name. (all mods covered and me main driver)

EDIT: Also in that price is a claim for theft of car in october 2002

Sorry for all the questions mate but can you explain how this works? I may have to come off fleet insurance when I get the new car you see and if I do, I want to declare mods so that if I stack it they pay out for the car! As I said, Ive had about 5 good quotes (£750 ish) but they are all mod free...so if insuring it in a parents name is possible legally Id like to look at that. How much is the same quote in your own name?

Liverpool victoria in my name was £1400 (never had my own insurance policy)

With the elephant one, they asked you will drive it more and the answer was me.

Im also insured on 3 other cars so its not the only car im insured on, dunno if that made a difference??

I'm with Liverpool Victoria and when I spoke to them recently I was told this included engine mods. I'm 36yrs old, live on Essex/East London Borders, full no claims and I pay £575.

Can anyone CONFIRM this is true? As it would be very useful to know!
I've rung them on three separate occasions now to make sure, and have been told the same thing every time - Take photos and keep the receipts. Was also told by one of them that they don't take points into account either.

One other thing they said was that they can't pre-match the price of a mod, i.e. (I'm guessing) they won't pre-agree to pay you the price of a mod in the event of a claim - they would make the decision of how much to give you at the time of the claim, if u see what I mean.

Other than that mine came to £612 (28, 5yrs protected no claims)

Daz.
