A few more quid and the vxr would be my choice or the focus st as they are far more tuneable with bigger gains for less money unlike the golf range

I just think other manufacture's like ford and vauxhall have cars out there that you can PLAY with, where vw dont.

If i had the money then i would not buy a vw again and buy the vxr, best thing to do is have a browse on there forums to get a picture.

i do like vxr's, one of my m8's had one few years ago, lovely sounding on boost, and good power when remapped! not to sure on handling, they are very twitchy on rear end!!!

There's a bit of choice out there for £10k.

If it were me, and for a weekend/track car, I'd say a series 1 Elise - I'm sure it would take a while to get bored of these, and if it goes pop on the Rover engine, then drop in a boosted TT lump for some lunacy.

Also, as others have said - an Evo (probably an import), would be loads of fun.

As a second car - would you mostly want to show it, track it, or use it for ragging around/weekends away?

think i want something with a bit of style and alot of poke!..lol

just been looking at e46 m3's on ebay, pretty nice!

havent got a clue when it comes to evos, dont like 8's! 7's are ok.. but going to have to be 300+ bhp..

Hi Mate,

That budget will give you some fantastic choices. [funky] I'll be in the market for an Escort Cosworth in around a year's time - right now, you'll get a dog for about £10-£12k - have been watching them for a few months now - if you do decide to go down this route and see one, drop me a PM - I may recognise it has having been advertised and sold on a lot lately... [Y]

Otherwise, what about a Mazda RX7? Would be interesting to see ya building rotary engines! Or how about a Scooby WRX?

Steve.
