Surely you have just answered your own question[:D]

you could get 20 more brake and your times (0-60 & 1/4 mile) would get worse........ its a matter of power to grip!!!!!!!!!!!

My brother has a 422 bhp cossie and over the 1/4 mile its hardly any quicker than my old 330 bhp cossie, as he just gets to much wheelspin!!!

I would look at traction control. simple as that...

LSD ??? as in the drug ? How much is traction control to install and is it difficult?

What is the cheapest way to improve my traction ?? better shocks ? Ive got eibachs springs on my standard shocks at the mo perhaps i should uprate these shocks would there be a noticable difference ?

Limited Slip Differential....... divert the power to the wheel with the most grip, so helps reduce wheels spin and is great when cornering.

You defo need to replace those standard shocks tho! Get a set of coils like FK's for around ?450 or some koni shocks! THIS SHOULD BE YOUR NEXT STEP! i assumed you had this done...

LSD and traction control wont be cheap due to the install with labour costs.... imho its more of a big power mod. Get the suspension done first and get some nice grippy tyres

I'd start out with an uprated dogbone mount. An lsd would be great but your talking around ?1200 for the lsd, clutch, flywheel and labour. Apart from that just feed the power to the wheel gently!

BTW, did you notice my question above? Interested to see if you got it solved.

dont mean to 'jack the thread, but...

I am experiencing similar probs. I am not as heavily modded as Baz, i only have a chip, intake and Eibach lowering springs (yes standard 'sports' shocks', but i am having a mare putting that power down!

I too wish to upgrade the suspension and i noticed Koni shocks mentioned. I have also been advised Bilstein b4 (?) shorten travel thingies. In addition i belive that the top bearing mounts to the shocks are knockered (clonking going round corners).

So my question, coil overs aside, what is the best shock to go with the VW/Eibach lowering springs in order to retain a reasonable ride and increase grip (part # if poss)

AND

The top bearing mounts, are they seperate items, like the Mk2's, and can i buy uprated versions and where from?

Thanks guys and sorry for jacking the thread!

Hi

My car is quite well modded at the mo as u can see in my sig. what can i do next for more speed ??

Seeing as you are 4bar already, your best bet is to strip out the interior of the car (its all about weight) and lob some Millers Octane booster in your tank. LSD will not give you more power but will allow you to use what you have more effectivley.
