Depends on the year of your lights but if you've got one on each headlamp they are ballasts. If you only have one then its the levelling thingy ! They cost mega bucks to replace

Im assuming these boxes are visable, as oppose to being on the back internally (Does that make sense?)

So Im missing them too . . .

wonderful... mine deffo does not have them... so been told PORKYS by OEM parts... as i was told all i need is the adapter.

if these electric control units are ?240+ each then that makes these Xenon shells a RIP OFF!

deffo not happy...

Yes you are, see the smaller plug to the right of the large 12 pin?

Thats where the ballasts plug in.

Simple - they wont work so no good at all without them.

They are around ?270 each so not cheap at all.

Knowledge?? Not me, Im just consulting ETOS [:D]

Out of interest, are these available separately?

Should they definately come as part of the unit? If it makes any difference mine are dated:

30.09.04 (1 J2 941 018 F) - Right

27.12.04 (1 J2 941 017 E) - Left

Problem is that we were told that its complete and all we need is the adapter.

now to spend another what ?400+ for this just makes me feel ripped off... consider in germany totally brandnew complete units cost sub 600 euro's

Looks like I'll be having words with Jeremy first thing on Monday morning []
Not sure if he still works there... does he?????????????????

I thought VW Germany was a bit disappointed with the way he ran OEM Parts

Normally the whole light is sold in parts not as one whole unit with everything there.... OEM Parts should not have said that they were ready to plug and play as they are defo not... out of interest have you tried pluging them in and switching them on????????????
