Well I know the R32 calipers are unique among Mk4 golfs, but surely the
calipers are used on other models, I cannot see VW developing new
calipers for a one of model, surely they would just borrow from the
parts bin IE brembos on the cupra R.

So what are the R32 calipers off, a Touraeg, and A4, and A6, a W8 a Phaeton

The reason I ask is I want to try and find a cheaper source of
calipers, other than very rare written of r32,s what are the part
no's of the brake pads? do they share them with any other car?

The 3.2 TT uses the same callipers as the V6 A3 which house 334mm discs.  Not the same as the R32 though.  I think the R32 callipers might be from an Audi S2 or RS2 maybe.

The RS4's (previous model) are fitted to the A3 and TT 3.2... and they are mahoosive compared to the R32's calipers. 4pot on the A3 vs 2 pot on the R32

Discs are 334mm on both though.

See this is what i dont get they must be off another model VW would
never goto the expense of developing a caliper for a restricted
production vehicle, the problem is the etka part no wont match anything
else as they come powder coated, I think the biggest tell tale may be
the brake pad part number

Ah yeah they are 334mm discs not 345mm, I've edited my previous post.

The A3 and TT V6 brakes though are only 2 pots from the old S4. I guess the old RS4 must have different brakes again, maybe 4 pots.

Here are some pics of the A3/TT V6 brake callipers. Anyone who's seen R32 callipers close up, are they the same?

the r32 and the 3.2 tt use the same caliper for defo i tell you
Part number for 3.2 TT calipers are 8N0 615 123 A & 8N0 615 124 A, R32 part pumbers are 1J0 615 123 E & 1J0 615 124 E

The price is exactly the same for both, ?131.72 inc vat each, so i'd imagine they both fit the same, maybe its just the finish thats different

I think the reasin that the r32 has a different part no to the TT's is that they are powder coader coated and the TTs are not,
