Car had some movement on the front o/s wheel, so as it was her car at the time my mother decided to take it to the local stealer to have a look at it, VW in Warrington. They told her it was the steering rack but the thick [email protected]**@%ds hadn't realised they put one on only 3 months earlier! They told her it was, because at the time it had 19's and lowered that this was the problem so she rang VW up to complain they should of told her at the time about this, they apologised and would come to some agreement! Anyway 10 mins later she got a call from the service manager to say they've looked it and its only a track rod that was bent!

Id just be careful in future as they were trying to get her to buy a new rack, suspension and standard wheels all in for around £1800!!!!!

yep mate they are not the best stealers!!!!!!!!!!

bought my wife a polo from there 3months ago, when we went to pick it up he only had one key for the car and it wasnt the master key, didnt have a service book manual,he went and took one from another car, rust on archs werent done as requested,he said would get it all sorted in the next few days,we took deliverlybut we werent happy, waited 2 weeks and no call so i decided to call, the salesman gone on holiday,he didnt do a thing,no one else was any help either,in the end had to speak to the manager,he got an ear full!!!the worst thing was selling me the car with one key and then not bothering to sort out the master key.i said to the manager do you sell cars with only one key????when i went for test drive it had 2 keys,he was like er im sorry blah blah,in the end booked car in to get key recoded and archs done, they had the car for 5 days,so after a month of buying the car all was sorted.

im telling you when you go to buy a car they are like so nice to you to get your money then when when you sign for it they like see you later!!!we got your money now.

but saying that ive had excellent customer service from smith night fay bolton, dane vw bebington and dane vw chester

its just some stealers are just trying to rob you

My sis got a polo from there and they were all very nice when we were looking but their after sales service was very poor. She had to take it back about 3 times due to minor problems, which should have been sorted before she picked it up. One day she was booked in and they told her to rearrange the appointment after leaving her waiting for half an hour, very poor customer service.

Also when she traded in her old car she wasn't selling her stereo as they agreed to put it in the polo. However they forgot and sold it to a trader with the car lol, oops she wasn't pleased.

Only ever used Warrington VW once.

I called in for two coil packs[:(], first of all they tried to tell me they had none in stock so I insisted that the young lad go have another look, what do you know they had loads.[],

BUT

I was impressed with thier prices, £5.74 for both coil packs[Y] (saving me about£50) thanks to the stupidity of the young lad who inputted the wrong price into the switch machine even though it was correct on the invoice.

Back in 98' VW Warrington where the reason I swore I would NEVER own a VW car again. Its taken this long to pluck up the courage to drive a VW again.

They had my still under warrenty Passat 1.8 SE, in 13 times in 12months for warranty work! This time in for over two and a half weeks, then when I complained and came to collected it none of the problems where fixed, such as failed aircon, leaking oil seals. Their excuse was they were very busy with PDI's at the time [8o|]... and lets not mention the courtesy car... a [au] flippin' Fiat Cinqecento (sp?). Lads used to queue up in the factory carpark to watch me shoehorn myself in and out of the tiny B"gger.!!

Hi,

I thought i was the only one having problems with them but I guess not. Bought my 03 reg golf from them about 2 months ago on the previsory that certain work was carried out on the car, front bumper/ nearside wing needed re-aligning, headlamp washer cap required nearside again and new front grill, along with a few other bit's

went to pick it up, bumper not re-aligned, no washer jet cover but new grill. Obviously i complained got the car booked in for the rest of the work the friday after. It went in had a new washer cover and mechanism fitted. When i pick it up it had a lovely extra scratch on the front bumper rubbing strip! and the near side wing still not aligned! When I looked behind the grill the bonnet lock support bracket was bent, quite severly hence not happy!!!

complained again and they booked it in for a week to strip the front end down and sort it out. Came back looking like they'd actually got it sort this time. got back home no prob's. went to go out on sat and the was bottle needed refilling did so but noticed that water was pooring out through the head lamp washers emptied the 5.5L bottel in a little under and hour and half!!!! took it back again getting a little peed off at this point.

got i back 2 days later all sorted.

or so i though have just dropped it off again to get the windscreen washer jets sorted, as they have pretty much stopped working. water jets barely making the windscreen.

They guys to watch for are Andy (the sales manager) seems like quite a smarmy sales man type I don't trust him or there service department as far as i could throw them( bear in mind I'm a 6 foot 5 rugby player hence shouldn't be a problem there) so will wait and see what they say when I get it back this time.

surficed to say I wont be going there to get my car service!!! or buying another car from them!! []

I have delt with Andy and know what you mean, although if you go into the garage in person they all seem to get a bit nicer. I've been back that many times now I'm recognise as soon as I get out of my car.

As for bolton, I have tried them a few times. They seem ok for parts, but when I had ma car serviced there they didn't replace the fuel filter, and it never came out clean. Hence would get me car services there again, also all stealers are far to expensive when I can take the car to a mate who I trust for about £80 all in.

Just a quick point of interest, for those not wanting to use Warrington VW-They are now the owners of the former Corkills Liverpool dealership! Corkills sold the dealership about 12 months ago,but i cant say whether this dealer is any better or not,as ive not used them myself. Does anyone have horror stories from Liverpool Volkswagen? Or do they appear to be better than their sister company? Paul.

went liverpool vw in july to help my mother inlaw to pick a bora, salesmen were very helpfull, they said most of the old staff had left

Fair enough,as i say,ive not used them myself so i cant really comment, but ive heard a couple of bad reports about the sales guys 'bullying' people into buying cars. I always use Corkills in Southport for service and parts,as they're always spot on and pretty good on price too,so its [Y] for southport. Maybe worth a try if youre in the NW? Also,Neil in parts gives a healthy discount on parts to forum members! Cheers,Paul.
