Hi there everyone,

I have connected my vagcom onto my car and it comes up with

two faults.

1) Coolant Temperature sensor - which I have bought and am about to

change.

2) Random Mutiple Cylinder misfire - I think it might be the nice and cheap coil pack ? Anyone got any ideas or have similar problems

Ok sorry but back up a second. You have a supercharged V6 4Motion? And you live in Wimborne, which is just around the corner from me? I MUST SEE THIS CAR! Oh and 2) does indeed sound like a coilpack, is it running rough?

260 to 290bhp I reckon...!

It could well be a coil pack by the error you've given... BUT! (and it's a big but!) Have you had your car chipped? I know the ECU should figure out it's getting more air but if your car hasn't been mapped to take advantage of the blower, then this could be the cause - and it could be anything from timing to fuel/air mix.

Other things you could try... Clean your MAF, make sure enough fuel is getting through now you've got a blower on...

Is it drinking fuel more than it did before? And like the guys say, does it feel lumpy?

DAMN DAMN DAMN I wanted the first supercharged 4mot on here !! seriously where did you get it supercharged?

The random misfire may not be the coilpack (get the serial number of the top to find out if it ispart of the faulty batch) as I know of a few people whom have had faulty ignition leads on these motors!

There was a dark blue UK supercharged 4motion in one of the mags a few years ago.. amd mapped it but i can't remember who did the installation

The Bora V6SC in VW Driver 2001 was pushing 280BHP/290BHP ish as I recall

I think that's the one that's on Autotrader at the moment, it's an ABT conversion according to the advert.

Hi there Everyone,

I got my Supercharged v6 4motion problems sorted out by Autotechnics in Southampton. They were excellent. Turns out the Cone filter is at the bottom of the car and its sucking in water which got to the Mass Air Flow Sensor and trashed it, also some wires had rubbed through probably summit 2 do with the installation. But its now sorted and just needs the belt changing and its back to 315 bhp approx. Hoooray !

Good. It was misfiring occasionally when we went for a ride, but when it was on song it was as if the whole power curve has just been shifted up slightly. I was a passenger of course, but it wasn't extreme in any way - just felt like a normal V6 but, faster. If you didn't already have a 4Mo, you would think it was just a bloody quick stock car.

I think its an ABT but not sure... Barry? He bought the car with it fitted though.

hows it compare with an R?

Again only a passenger, but I would say it outperforms the stock R, abot up to the stage of Roysters which I think is 270BHP? But then it is super charged, so you would expect that. If its now going to be at 315BHP and all fixed, Id like another go!
