I have been suffering from an increased amount of movement and vibration from the gearbox and engine in the Golf, probably down to the increased torque from the DMS upgrade, and wanted to replace the dogbone mount with a better version than the standard, and without the increased vibration from the aftermarket stuff, so.....
I called into see the parts dept at the Volkswagen dealer i use, not the nearest, its an hour and a half drive away but the parts man is first rate[

I asked about a better dogbone mount, and wanted an OEM one as I prefer to go that way with stuff. He said he'd look at the options and order the best one (would you trust your parts dept like that? this bloke is first rate)
Picked up the parts and fitted the new one today, its the one off the 180bhp 1.8T, as even though there are a number of different types on ETKA, the diesels only have one version, 90bhp to 150bhp they are all the same-and now i've more than 150!
What a difference! Tramping and torque steer vastly reduced, smooth gearchange and very smooth power delivery. The main problem was crawling in 2nd gear, for instance, and when you plant your foot and the turbo kicked in the car was all over the place but its smooth as hell now-with not one difference to noise, vibration and comfort.... well done Peter Chimes![
