for some reason i love this, when you put the key in the car pings to you, most u.s cars do this.

is this possible to turn on?

Easy with VAGCOM just code your dash to US instead of UK - you get US MPG but it's not much different. You also get the temp on the MFA in degrees F.

Here are the instructions

After s electing control module [17-Instruments];

1- Under "Advanced Functions", s elect [Recode-07]

2- Make a note of the 5-digit number in the "Software Coding" box in case you need to reset it. The third digit is the country code and will be the one that is changed. Do not change any of the other numbers, and do not change the workshop code.

3- Enter the new third digit, s elect [Do It!].

The available codes are:

1 - Europe (24 hour clock, metric units, ?C)

2 - USA (12 hour clock, Imperial units, ?F)

3 - Canada (12 hour clock, metric units, ?C)

4 - Great Britain (24 hour clock, Imperial units, ?C)

5 - Japan (24 hour clock, metric units, ?C)

Note: Japanese gas mileage is calculated differently than other metric countries.

6 - Saudi Arabia (24 hour clock, metric units, ?C)

7 - Australia (24 hour clock, metric units, ?C)

Europe, Saudi Arabia and Australia appear to all have the same display results.

Using instructions as above gets you the "bing, bing, bing" Josh, but you can't have it with Degrees C and 12hr Clock.

I did mine for the Temp really. The 12hr clock does not bother me too much.

well i have climatronic, so i can change the car's code to u.s and then reset it back to celc by the climatronic.

but what about speed, is there going to be much of a diff as i dont want to get done for speeding, plus i will not an acurate milage.

It doesn't change your dials matey, it'll still read in MPH, don't worry []

It just changes MPGallon (Metric) to MPGallon (Imperial)...

I'm going to try this next time I'm near a VAGCOM, quite like it in degrees F, more used to it than degrees C (plus I like the bing thing too!)

One thing that is quite shocking is that my MPG has gone from 40 ish to about 18 LOL

Mine went from an average of 52 on the motorway to 44 / 45
