The turbo on my dad's '07 320d has blown up. How much do you think this should cost to repair?

I mean, providing there's no pieces through the intercooler and stuff, would it just require a new turbo bolting on?

RAC said £1000 repair. [:O]

Not having much luck with cars at the moment am I?

As long as the mileage isn't too high and it's fsh, he may get some goodwill from BMW. If not it's ?1500 ish at a specialist.

Christ on a bike. Full BMWSH but it's pushing onto 100k now I think. He's the only owner too.

I told him to get onto BMW to get some money back.

There is loads on the web about 320/520d's blowing their turbo's and causing lots of damage, but what makes it really bad is the after sales care from BMW - some of what i read (i should know better!) was a joke!

Let us know what they say.

Good luck

Nothing yet. My dad forked out about £1600 to our local non-bmw garage to fix it.

I keep telling him to get onto BMW but don't think he's acted yet.
