i dont know about the M5, only barely beat that. but the others were, definitely, the porsche 944 was giving it to a 1.8t, so i thought lets have a go, the driver or the 1.8t was shouting to the 944 about another try after another try, i was watching from behind..

the boxters, though they had a passenger, they were giving it, as i could see them coming right behind me,

the only car there that really gave me trouble was the M3, this was the coupe (cabrios are too easy), 5 runs and lost two of them

but yes, they all gave it otherwise they would not be that close to me specially when i am flooring it

mind you, those are only the ones i won, i think the list of the ones i lost is a lot longer. fp_008 left me for dead in her R not so long ago, also, a bunch of STi's, (about 5 of them, i think they were on their way to a meet), all heavily modded and full of passengers left me for dead, and i mean all of them, this wasnt too long ago, was on the way to lakeside.

tried racing a 911 turbo, but gave up after i could not see it anymore, same with the AMG mercs, some of them are bl**dy fast

Never mind the kill list, I can name a few surprising cars that I've tried to beat but simply couldn't keep up with:

Audi TT 3.2 DSG - damn that trick launch control.
BMW 540i Touring - once off the line it had seemed to have unstoppable welly.
Chipped 1.8T GTIs - 200kg weight saving over the .:R makes a huge difference in the dry.
Chipped Mini Cooper S - was all over the back of me like a rash.

m3 and s4 is quite an acheivement if you did beat them and they were trying!!

Audi TT 3.2 isn't that quick!! I beat one of these in my 300 bhp Nissan 200sx off the lights and on the motorway! But not by a huge amount I might add

Also a chipped 1.8T and Chipped Mini is nowhere near as quick as an M3/M5 or S4 so im confused!

Good list anyway!

My 'kills'

Ford Mondeo TDCI 130 estate

Porsche 996 911 Turbo

BMW M3

White Astramax Van

Vauxhall Zafira 1.8

Original Mini 1100cc Clubman

Some HGV's

XJ220 while I was driving a 2CV

What did they all have in common?

None of them knew I was racing them and some were even parked up.

My point?

Road 'racing' doesn't prove anything other than who is prepared to be most irresponsible. Certainly nothing to do with vehicle capabilities or driver skill. You have no idea how the other party was really driving for a start.

you should have been able to lose the mini cooper S, even if it was chipped..

a friend of mine can keep up with a chipped mini cooper S in his bmw 328i, but he'd get whooped by an R32..
