This is more directed to people who have had/know any good places in Scotland/Aberdeen Area to get their windows tinted, really fancy getting them done, but just need some advice as to where, I've heard of some places charging ?250 [B)] for the whole car (minus the windscreen), I would have thought this is quite expensive?

Anyone had any experience?

That price is about right really, not sure about any places in Aberdeen. But you can't go wrong with Pentagon, got my first Golf done there and it was ?250, got my current Golf done by Advanced Auto Tint in south street Glasgow and they were ?200, also a job well done.

Oddly enough for someone who lives in Aberdeen I had my windows done by Pentagon in Glasgow. They did a first class job and have had no problems with the windows in the two and a half years since. They charged ?250.

Having said that there is a tinting firm in Aberdeen based up in Tullos if memory serves, although I can't remember their name off hand (must be in the Yellow Pages)! I know a couple of cars which have been tinted there and the owners reported that they were spot on too!

What % tints did you go for D17ONA and how long did it take?

Hi mate, I had my windows done by Tint Haus up at Tullos and they made a fantastic job. The guy Scot that has the Aberdeen branch is a proper car enthusiast so is quite a perfectionist. I would recomend them everytime. They also do all the cars for a lot of tinting for the local car dealerships such as Specialist cars etc, so there's always loads of RS6's and A3's etc at the place.

There is a guy in peterhead called SR autotints who is well priced and does an excellent job. I think he used to work for tint haus, he is a big english guy that used to drive a modded white focus.

Whatever you do DONT go near scottglass in oldmeldrum they are a bunch of incompetent monkeys.

[B)] em can't remember of hand, I went for the same all round this time, last time I had split tints, darker at the rear, and I wasn't too keen on it. Mine are a light tint, however as far as I know they are still illegal at the front, touch wood I haven't been pulled for them tho.

Sounds like you are sorted but I just thought i would add my tuppence worth for anyone else who may look this up.

DON'T go anywhere near Ziebart in Edinburgh, long story cut short, took wife's car left for the day to get light smoke tints, No problem said the manager, phone you on your mobile when its ready. Half way through the afternoon no call, getting fed up decided to go back, sorry sir we ran out of light smoke so we just did it in LIMO TINT, ARGhhh!!!!! etc etc.

Magma at Livingston are expensive but really know what they are doing, They remove all the windows, tint them and replace, we bit expensive but they are open to negotiation and i would definately go there again.

Cheers

Ger, nothing is legal before the B pillars anymore mate. Give Gary at Pentagon a call and he'll advise you. As you know my old Golf was done at Pentagon and it was a top job (they also did my old Polo in Supaglass, again an excellent job) although a bit more costly than others at ?300. Not gonna bother with getting the Bora done, as I feel I've kinda outgrown tints, must be getting old lol, and its also an expense that you can't take with you when you sell the car on.
