Tonight on Fifth Gear (C5) viewers voted the Ferrari Testarossa their favourite Ferrari.

Unbelieveable. Just goes to show what numb-nuts most of the Great British Public are. Or at least those that can be bothered to phone a premium rate number on a Channel 5 programme.[)]

A car which is notable mainly for its appearances on Miami Vice, and for having the mid-engined handling wrecked by putting the flat 12 on top of the gearbox, raising its centre of gravity.

It should have been beaten into last place by the Mondial, with the 348 in front.

Have to admit, I've always loved the look of the Testarossa, it's so damn wide. I think it was the 'Miami Vice' factor that put it in first place...all those Crockett and Tubbs wannabes still living in the 80's, also liked the black Daytona spyder, that was a fake wasn't it??

Yep - the Smiths Instruments dials were a giveaway, as they were on the 250GT California in Ferris Buellers Day Off!

Was disappointed with the testarossa, just the choice of people cos of all the yuppies with 'em in the 80s

Only ever had a brief drive of a 355 and that was gorgeous and not even mentioned [:(]

I love the Dino, and the california spyder[8D][8D] they would have been my choices for 1 & 2

BTW VBH looking foxy as usual in that short black dress [;)]

I'm with Caged on this one - the 288 GTO of the mid 80's has got to be my all time favourite Ferrari. Ok, so at 186mph it was beaten by the Porsche 959 for top speed, but it was a car which was both Beautiful, and yet brutal looking at the same time.

Never seen one in the metal though, as I think there are only a handful in this country

I was screaming at the TV when they said the testy was number one, kinda thought it might have been the Enzo (not my choice) How on earth could a ZeeMax replica be the number one ferrari!!!! but as Claire rightley pointed out the testicleorossa is probabley the most famous fezza of recent times and judging by some of the muppets they asked they couldn't even spell car let alone know what a ferrari is.

Yeah, the Testarossa was a little disappointing but I suppose you've got to remember that to the "general public", it's probably the most famous.

I agree with Caged and Konman. 288 GTO is a wonderful car and was mind bogglingly quick. Plus it led the way to the legendary F40. Should have been right up there.

Yeah.. the 355 barely got a mention!!!

Now I Clarkson was running that poll, he would have over-ridden the results and declared his favorite the winner [:)]

I had no idea Clarkson was from Doncaster!! just found out the other week when watching TopGear!

The 355 was the best. But then again, I always did watch more Magnum than Miami Vice.

And as for Vicky Butler Henderson. I see nothing what so ever in her. I can't be the only one. She rates as highly as Charly Dimmock and Hayley Cropper on the 'would get it' scale.
