Test drove a TT 3.2 today. April 2004 7.5k miles - ?27k

Extras:

Red leather

Bose stereo

6 disc

Tracker

Metallic paint

Auto gleam sealing polish aftercare thing...

I have been offered ?19k for my R32 - standard car with 16k miles..

That leaves ?8k to change.

Am I mad?[)]

?8k... you kiddin!!!??

At the end of the day, you have the better drivers car (so many mags can't be wrong)... and the nicer sounding car. The only thing the TT posesses over the R is the posing appeal... but then that isn't necessarily a good thing! [;)]

I've had a go in one of these and thought it was a great car, loved the DSG gear box and the interior really is something special.

The thing is you haven't told us what you think of the car, do you prefer it over the R32, can you live with the interior space, do you think it's worth the extra 8k or would you be changing just for the sake of it.

And don't forget 27k will get you into a s/hand Boxster.

What age of boxter would I get????

The tt was nice. Much more quiet than the R32 - and the floorpan felt stiffer...

However it did feel a little slower. It was much smaller inside but the custom red interior was to die for.

Overall much the same as the R32 but just a different body... It really didn't fee like a new car.

I guess I just have itchy feet ATM.

cant stay away can you Martyn, I personally would stick with the R ANY TT looks like a 'midlife crisis car' to me (and alot of other people I know) not only that is really that much more distinctive than every other TT on the road whereas the R has that presence when you pull up in it, that a TT cannot have as they are too common.

I like the TT - especially if the interior has the right colour combo - Red seats do look VERY nice.

Trouble is I feel the TT isn't as special anymore (too common), and the 3.2 just doesn't look all that different to other TT's. Infact for some reason it looks naff to me - Dodgy 4x4 ride height, dodgy whale tail spoiler with 1970's rubber strip just don't make it look special in the right way..

Personally I'd spend 27k on a nice 2nd hand Boxster S.

(not having a dig mate, I've thought about changing my car a while back)

I must have a look at these boxters..

I have always fancied one but never thought I could afford..

Thats one thing I like about this forum... people really tell you what they feel.

Martyn - my business partner has one..........

It's OK but i'm not a major TT fan really.

The 3.2 gives it 'go' but not as much as you'd expect.

The DSG...well STEER CLEAR! is the advice........along with others on the forum and TT forum, he's having serious problems with it.

I have just read the thread on the TT forum...

The DSG gearbox doesn't seem up to much...

Looks like its time to look at boxters.

Test drive a Boxster - they are sublime IMO

The howling motor behind your head, the steering feel, the car feels almost perfect

And when you go back to your car after work, its a Porsche........

The S is seriously quick, but the 2.7 is still brilliant

?27k should get an 2002 2.7 or a 2000 3.2S

Deffo a 02 Boxster over a TT.

How have you kept the mileage so low on the R??

I only have my car since April and I don't do a lot of driving but I've over 11K on it already!
