Can anyone tell me where the arrow should be pointing? Some say towards the middle and others to the right hand edge of the gap which is where I have set it.

To the middle of the gap. To the right edge of the gap is still within spec, as long as it's still within the gap.

Thanks for the reply. I called RAC out and he said it was fine as it was - better to set it to the right hand as when the engine turns over the belt will most likely slacken off slightly.
