Hi, I just picked up a Jetta Sport 2.0TDi 140pd, and am wondering which remap anyone has had good/bad experiences of...

My last car Civic 2.2 diesel was mapped by celtic tuning to 197bhp&330lb/ft, and they say that the Jetta is mappable to 201bhp 311lb/ft (not sure I believe them)

Most other places seem to say 185bhp ish...

My last VW suffered from the turbo spitting oil and clogging up the intercooler (bora TDi 130pd), guessing that the Jetta will be the same? Has anyone has any issues with this? I'm planning on getting the intercooler off and steam cleaning it, and then doing the best I can for other pipework that can clog, that did wonders for my Bora.

Any thoughts appreciated,

Andy

that's too high - not only will you be in for potential turbo issues but also clutch failure with that level of torque

Like you say, most tuners offer around 185bhp and I'd say that's fine. I ran my mk5 with superchips at 191bhp/281lbft for 70+k with no problems. Okay, the figures maybe lower than some talk about but atleast I didn't have to fork out for a load of new parts
