Just been to the local stealer expecting grief..............instead got them to agree to replace all 4 anni wheels, sort my fans out, sort my coolant temp sensor out and I asked them if the speakers were covered under warranty to which they replied yes, so they're replacing my two door speakers..........all under warranty!!!![][][]

RESULT!!!![H]

Goes in Tuesday!!!

This is the problem isn't it!? Are VW gonna wash their hands of us once the warranty runs out??[:O]

I asked the stealer if the same thing will happen to my new wheels (already knowing the answer!![]) and he said "no, because it was a faulty batch when they were all made together and they've since sorted the problem!!"

A blatant lie me thinks!!!

I think this maybe the case! As an example if a stealer fits a
genuine part to a non-warranty vehicle during a service they will
normally give that part a 12mth warranty - if it fails in that time
then the replacement part with consist of the remainder of the
warranty. Correct me if anybody thinks I am wrong.

BUT - contact trading standards as I think they may be able to spread some light on the subject

PS my stealers are willing to send 3 of my wheels for replacement but
not the 4th! but I have lodged the complaint so that when in the
future the 4th one begins to go I have it on record with VW

Yeah cheers for that.......but I thought about this just as I was walkin out of the showroom......so I turned round and got them to order center caps too, thankfully!!![]

Bit of a nightmare though, this whole warranty / wheel business!![]

I have heard that the BBS version of the VW Anniwheels (if you get what I mean) don't suffer from this problem, is it true ?

If so, it might be a better long term solution.

From what i have seen, your right in that the BBS RCs as standard dont
suffer with the problem btu that is because they are painted and the VW
version are polished metal.

The painted look ok but not as good as the polished.

Mine have been on since november and one of them is showing some nasty
signs but being as the car sprang a door leak this morning its got to
go in for warranty anyay!

It is true. No problems with the BBS RCs.

Has anybody had to return their replacement alloys yet?

Yeah its the one on the Orbital Park.........what was wrong with them when you dealt with 'em??

Basically they sold me a car that didnt meet there apparant such high standards and had to fight to get them to sort all the problems with it out at another VW garage as this one isnt local to me! This was 18months ago now, so by the sound of it they have lost their franchise so are probably much better now, for a stealer! Glad you got it all sorted!
