After another crash bang whallop on the way home, im fed up with my W reg 115 TDI Bora`s very harsh ride...

What do I do???

Seems like it all needs replacing, shocks, bushes, top mounts....

any ideas???

Can I get somewhere near to the factory ride for say £500?

If not, what are the best options?

Cheers.

wheel size? larger wheels (and thinner tires) will make the ride harder....

other than that, the shocks n springs may well be knackered, in which case, if you dont want to lower it, just replace with OE shocks n springs. No idea how much OE suspension costs, I fitted a £150 35mm lowering kit of ebay, no complaints about the ride, and its not impractically low... might be worth considering...

bushes and bearings are about £20 iirc.

£750 sounds a bit steep to me. If your reasonably confident with a spanner, its a pretty straight forward DIY job...

here's the guide i followed when i did mine, i know its for coilovers, but that same steps apply.

if it was me, id buy these set them at max height, and spend a weekend getting greasy/saving myself some money. Even with a 20mm drop it will sit higher, and ride smoother than it is now, if your shocks n springs are THAT knackered...
