OMG [:O] Does that look sweet sitting nice and tight in the corner. Would I love to do this to my 4Mo but will have to wait unit out of warranty before i do.

Whats it like for everyday driving and does it eat petrol? [;)] Will enjoy getting back to 300bhp again as I miss that power to play with [H]

Keep us informaed on how its going though please [:D]

I agree its a peice of art sat in the corner and its so tight, there is no way you can get your hand in there. its about 5mm from the headlight and the same from the engine mount on the otherside.

Here is the website http://www.vf-engineering.com ask for Nik he's the owner. There support is the best i have ever come accross.

Petrol consumption is a problem , driving normally it doesnt use that much more than a stock V6. but when you floor it above 4000rpm you need to know where the next garage is. The GIAC chip raises the limiter to 7000rpm from 6500 so even more fuel needed.

The Koni shocks havnt done the job i was hoping, im still on the stock 16" alloys and stock springs. The roll in corners is bad. Im thinking 17" wheels or some Eibach springs or maybe both. Im trying to keep it looking original as possible (wolf in sheeps clothing).

This is my project car. i have a deisel that i drive daily. i would recommend having a seperate daily driver to your project car to anybody. takes all the agro out of having to get it done, so you can drive to work the next day.

Yep wait till your warraty is out cos as soon as you put a charger on it Stealers(dealers) wont touch you. There scared of the power[:D]

Ive put the VF pendulum engine mount on and it is a beauty. Really does stop most of the front to back movement created by the torque. Another recommendation and is a must if you supercharge.

Will also have to fit a boost gauge and get it dyno'ed.

Nice. Regarding the roll in corners, the Konis will be of limited help in this regard against the laws of physics - you can control this by fitting an uprated Anti Roll Bar kit, from a company like H&R or Eibach. Or, on a budget, the R32 OEM items. The stiffer ARB's will increase the stiffness of the outside springs during cornering, keeping the car flatter and so the wheels are more directly in contact with the road. The dampers will continue to do their job controlling the rebound of the cars when the springs uncompress.

Assuming you have the yellow Sport Konis, what level of stiffness adjustment are you using? I have mine set halfway all round, and find that the best compromise. My previous car had them set up one click off max stiffness and I now realise that was too severe and the softer damping is the way to go.

Eibach Pro Kit -30mm springs are unlikely to alter the look of the car much if at all. I fitted them to my Anni (see the forum homepage for pics) and dont think it looks any different. I do think the springs are better though.

For a great debunk of a lot of suspension myths read the article posted here;

Nice, been exploring this avenue myself could I ask a few questions

who fitted it for you?

did you impport it yourself?

how much was the kit? if thats not to cheeky!

As for the Roll You need to get the r32 ARB's they will cost around
?160 all in and are superior to any aftermarket stuff, PM shaq on here
he does a cracking deal on them.

mmm suspension. i have the koni sports struts (yellow) i havn't checked what they are set to[]. I thought it was the tyres rolling over as i have 16" rims which gives me a lot more rubber.

Thanks for the info guys i will invest in a set of R32 ARB's for sure.

I originally had the charger fitted to my golf3 2 years ago (still going strong) in Southamton for 3g. Took them 2 weeks then i had to go back twice. it brings back bad memories, even typing this. It actually ruined the car for me and in the end i took the charger off which funnily only took about 2 hours and sold the car i had spent so much time on.

I fitted the charger on the Bora in about 2 days. Its not a job to be taken lightly! The mk4 is so much more technical than the mk3. I would suggest if anyone is thinking of fitting this charger themselves that they should have some technical background.

The charger originally was imported by ns-racing in london then shipped to regal autosport in southampton where it was fitted to my mk3,

When i fitted it to the bora i imported all the extra parts myself.

I have been to many performance garages Stealth, AMD, Regal, TSR they are all over priced and over rated in my opinion, best if you can do it yourself. rant rant look what you've started now[:D]

The kit is ?2750 that is for the mk4

Mate that is awesome! and looks so neat and tidy!! saw a few golfs with s/c! at Inters I sooo am getting one!

I bet you must shock some others on the road when they see yoour car and think it standard!

What's the power delivery like?? I have heard its still just as smooth but and extra 90bhp smooth!

First off there is the sound, it whines from the start, you know that its not standard just from the idle and i have a stock exhaust. then as you accelerate there is a high pitched whistle until you hit 4500rpm then it rumbles like a thunderous roar as it sucks in so much air that the K&N trys its hardest not to self distruct and get sucked into the engine[:p].

The power delivery is awesome from the off and it really picks up after 4000rpm and is smooth all the way to 7000rpm 6psi boost. Its very smooth no turbo lag no bumps in the torque curve just pure power. Im off out for a drive now. just talking about it makes me wanna drive.[:D]

stage 1 is 80 -100 bhp gains on the EU mk4 and then there is stage2 which is another 40bhp[:p]

Yeah i bought it direct from VF. The import tax is a question of luck you either get taxed or you dont, there are so many parcels imported every day into the country that they cant do them all. I wasnt taxed on my main charger but i did get taxed on the engine mount which got sent seperately.

So how come fitting took so long as the guys at NS-Racing quote 8hours as do the VF website?

If it only took this long you could book a hotel up there over night, drop the car in the morning before and pick it up in the afternoon the following day and enjoy the drive back, all depending on where you live of course. [:)]

2750 is the price on there website and is for everything you need. In a round about way that is what i paid.

To have it fitted the price would be more like 4000 over here.

Fitting time is dependant on experience, i have told VF that there 8hour fitting time is not right, maybe for the mk3 but not for the mk4, there is so much more involved with the mk4. i spent 4 hours messing around relocating the smog pump which now would probably take me 30mins. Yep you can go to NS racing, they will probably do a good job and if your lucky have it done for you in a day. Turn up in the morning, go shopping all day in london return in the evening and drive home all done. Thank you very much, and you have somewhere to take it back if it all goes wrong. I prefer to know exactly what is going on, i no longer trust garages to do the jobs i can do myself. and when they mess it up they cover it up! you'le get 200 miles down the road your engine blows the head and they say its cos you put the charger on, not because they didnt do the vacuum system right which caused detonation. Talking from experience here. starting to rant again must stop.[]

Anyway go for it, if NS arnt too far away. I would recommend Stealth Racing in Warickshire, dont even think about Regal Autosport who are an official distributor for VF. AMD dont touch this stuff anymore not after loosing a certain member of staff, Quote from AMD "the electrical system in the V6 cant handle a supercharger". mmmm not sure on that one?

I am going to be going for it and having been playing with the idea of
a supercharger for a long time, and totally dismissed any Ideas of a
turbo, untill I did more reading about the eip stage 1 kit on vwvortex
kit, by a member who had had both. systems, and the bit that made me
think twice was the fact the turbo produces alot more torque lower down
than the SC .

PS I would be doing the spanner work myself , I have done MI16
transplants into 205's myself before so Think I could manage this,
However how complete is the manual, and does it come with an
instalation DVD

Aparently the stage 1 EIP turbo is as easy to fit as the VF SC as it does not require the head to come of for lower compression.

Hey andymac you gonna fit the supercharger[:p] or the turbo[^o)]?

The instruction come on CD and are 95% accurate, there are 30 large photos and 7 pages of text to work from. Where the instructions let you down is where there technical support is the best.

This is the forums for superchargers http://www.vf-unplugged.net/forums/ This is a great place as they only talk about VF chargers and mods concerning chargers.
