Hi everyone [:D]

I've ordered a GTI but still undecided on colour. Currently have my order down as Steel Grey but quite smitten with the Blue Graphite that the dealer has as a demo. I have until Friday to choose, so any opinions on colour?

I also think it looks great in Red and Black but would prefer something a bit more subtle.

Ive got graphite blue so i'm biased.

I was going to order a steel grey until i saw both the grey and graphite sat next to each other awaiting PDI's. I just thought the graphite had a bit more of something different about it. so i got one of those

I owned a Steel Grey car for a month. Really liked it at first as it does look quite sophisticated. It looks a bit plain though when it is cloudy. So from your two graphite blue would be my choice.

I do though have reservations about how a GTI would look in it. For me it should shout "look at me", I'm a GTI. I would probably choose black or red!

Congrats on the GTI whatever YOU choose.

Thanks for all your suggestions guys but I have gone for Blue Graphite. This colour on their demo has really grown on me and I dont see many of these colours around. I've seen Mags car and its stunning, my other reason for finally going for Blue is that my Corolla that I'm going to trade is in Grey too.

Not that one, no. Bought mine from SKF in stockport, and the aftersales care they give is awful, my car twice came back from there with dents and chips, and dont give a poopoo abut anything. Anyway ive started using GL at trafford and they seem better.

Zman,

Didnt get diddly squat off the car. However managed to get ?700 more on my trade-in than anywhere else, so the cost to change was reasonable.

Couldnt find anwhere that would do a deal close to the What Car target price for the vehicle.

col.mc - SKF Stockport were a bunch of bafoons in my opinion.

ZMan - Try Virgin Cars - They should give you a discount as they say they match the What Car Target price. The What Car Target price apparently is backed up by a written quote that they have received. You can ring a number on the What Car website and they'll put you in touch with whoever quoted them.

Good advice isn't it? I went to a dealer and paid full price! But I am impatient and there was a wait involved for a UK car.

I emailed What Car and left messages but not heard nothing back. I did search some internet brokers 'drivethedeal' and 'Broadspeed' and they were giving ?10-?250 off the price. Didn't feel as bad after seeing that based on the deal I got.

What Car were a bit slow but after I called and left a message Virgin Cars rang back and said they always match the What Car target price, which they did.

The downside (there's always a downside!) was that I'd have to wait 12 weeks for a pre-reg car and 20 weeks for a brand new car. Too long for me but maybe worth the wait for some people, especially with ?1000 or so discount.
