NGK PFR6Q - mine were cheaper from a spark plug site but I cannot remember which now. Triple thumbs up for this plug as compared with the stock one.

They ARE the stock ones[:)].

Alot of people use www.sparkplugs.co.uk. Although it works out more expensive than the dealer. Don't even bother with Halfords as they only stock cheap ones.

Thought someone might say that but they were not stock on my car. Believe they are stock on the TT and perhaps some of the later cars???

I am almost positive that I paid ?30 for my ones guys! They were NGK platinum ones, I shall check if they are the stock ones and get back to you! I shall also check the price! My engine code is ARZ though, are there different plugs for the different codes?

Dunno how much they were, the specialist garage I use (not VW) said they're the best ones for the car and will give the best spark. Got them done at my 40k service and were included in the price.

GaryM, I read on http://www.iridiumpower.com/find_part.php?type=auto that our cars need IK20 not IK22? Is this part particular to GTI 180 and IK20 for GTI 150? Its late so forgive me if im being blind

I went for the 22's as they are supposed to be 2 grades colder than standard plugs which helps when running higher boost after remaps.

This information was picked up from various other forums which I took as being correct.

Anybody care to comment?

I've been wondering whether I should run one grade cooler myself. Gary, have you had inspected your plugs to see what they look like? I've had experience of another car where the plugs were too cold and they always got fouled up with town driving. It was a right PITA.
