Having decided that my current 'space saver' spare wheel was looking a bit tatty, I decided to go to the local scrap yard for a better one.

Now I thought that there would be lots of different sizes for 'space saver' wheels, so I was quite shocked to learn that they are all now one universal size.

Anyway, I told the man I wanted one that would fit my Polo, so he s elected one for me and even secured it to my car for me [Y]

So anyway, my new 'space saver' cost me £50.

Now I don't know a great deal about wheels and tyres, but I'm not sure this wheel will be compatible with the hub on my little Polo, and I think I've been conned.....

What do you guys think??

I think it's fine, the one you have been sold is actually the Space Saver Mk2.

It saves so much space in the boot, that's why they fit on the roof.

Also they are "one size fits all".
Yeah... the man at the scrappy said they were 'one size fits all' too [clap]

You could probably use it as an emergency brake too, if you push it off the roof backwards!

You just cut those ones down to the diameter you need mate, did he not give you a small craft knife with it?
ROTFLMFAO I'd spend the rest of my life carving away at it to get it down to size!
