Just thought I would post some of the last pictures of my Golf, which I sold on the weekend of Edition 38? I wanted to keep the car for the show, but I was offered good money as soon as I put the car up for sale and I did not want to loss out, so I missed out on E38.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Even though I miss it a lot? I am enjoying the feeling and freedom of owning a cheap car.

I decided that I wanted to stop spending money on cars... over the last 10 years I have had Sporty/Hot Hatches and I always spent money on them. I dare not add up all the money over the years and also add together the amount I?ve paid out on Insurances.

I'm going to be 29 soon, so I decided that it?s about time to get a normalish car and leave it alone. Me and the otherhalf are going to get a new German car of some sort (I chose to buy the Golf 5 years ago and now it?s her choice)? prob not part of the VAG family and I?m now going to leave the whole modified scene, well sort of.

At the moment, to tie me over I bought myself a 1995 Renault Clio 16v (the same to look at as the Clio Williams I use to own) I bought it from a friend to tie me over for the weekends until I get something different, but cheap. It is so nice to have a car I don?t care about? park it wherever I like? no need to worry about warming the engine / turbo up or down anymore. I can finally buy cheap, low performance fuel and my insurance has gone down by a massive amount.

At the moment I'm thinking about buying an early Bora (due to the values decreasing a lot) and then just enjoying some cheap driving frills and something to play around with at the weekend... stick some nice wheels on it , lower it and then leave it. I'm not even bothered about performance, as I'd like a cheaper car to insure. Cars have always been toys for me, as I don't need to own one as I get the train to and from work.

The Bora will also allow me to attend VW meets still, with out being laughed at like I am in the Clio?. You know who you are?lol?lol?lol? I would post pictures of the Clio, but I don?t want to be laughed at.

Possibly see some of you guys around still at meets and shows.

Cheers Kev?

It was an awesome car and I'm sure inspiration to many

As you're after a bora how about W36 EJO's raven blue one, bit of a trek down Bristol way but could be worth it if the deals right

Glad your sticking around mate.

Every time I see your car I think about swapping the Brock B2's I have on my car for BBS CH's.

They fill the arches so well but I would have to go for the 18's so am not sure they would look as good.

hope a uk mkiv member got it,

how much of its RS entireity did they get it with? (i.e. how much of the extras/bits did it sell with?)

(if you don't mind) how much did she sell for?

one of your pics of your golf has been my wallpaper since september. i love your car.

should a ceremony be held to hand the RS badge over to the next mk4?

hehehe, sorry to see her go, hope you do a comeback tour with a mk5 soon!

Thanks!

Yep, RS I have a Bora for sale, though V5 so won't be exactly cheap on the fuel, but cheap enough on the insurance for me (25, 5yrs NCB, 1 speeding offence, ?320).

It's already lowered, oettingered and R32 interior, private plate and not asking much for it really, though don't know how cheap your talking about. So could be the best of both worlds, and its extremely clean. But like I say, may not be the right type of car because of the V5 engine.
