Finally got an okay price from a dealer - ?17.5k.

It's been a great car but it's became a liability after it was vandalised twice.

Will probably not be VWing for a while as I think the rest of their modern range (mk5 GTi excepted but it's way too pricey) is pretty unimpressive to drive and overpriced.

May be back when we get secure parking and the Mk5 R is out though!

Another R owner bited the dust. I was offered 17k for mine by a dealer six months ago so you did well to get that price now.

Interestingly I did manage to get an even better price although getting beyond ?19k was pretty difficult from a dealer. On the R there are very good cars to be had for ?19k....basically take your pick its a buyers market[]. Don't throw money at the dealers because most if not all R's are still under manufacturers warranty[!]

What a bargain! I know it has high miles, but providing it's been serviced regularly [which I'm sure it has], you could pick up an extended warranty, remove the S4 badges and I'm sure no-one would be none the wiser about what it was.... [^] I've always wanted a B6 S4 Avant, but the image of a 25 year old driving about an estate put me off [stupid I know] - I think they are stunning. It meets everything you need [cargo space, versatility, stealth looks, performance].

Sutherlandm, join the club mate..i sold my R32 about 7 months ago too...I too have had my car vandilised by some scums of the earth!!! [!] if only i caught them aaaggggghhhHhh [!][!][}]

Indeed wishful thinking[], as Fontain only sell Audi they will simply ring around dealerships and see what offers they can get for your car......so in that case better if you do the investigation as you'll get a better price. Good luck

I got my wheels nicked in cotham, was very depressing. After that i have had 3 different brands of locking wheel nuts on each wheel and don't take my car to bristol any more. thieving scum if i had caught them, i would have taught them what the criminal system should be like.
