Chaz,

First up you need to upload a suitable pic to your gallery. If you haven't got a gallery, PM David and request one to be set up. The pic needs to meet certain criteria which you'll find in the help section. To get the pic into your sig I did the following. Click on the reply to topic link ( not the quick reply). Opem a new window, go to the pic, right click s elect properties, copy the full address of the pic then paste it into the reply window, highlight the adddress text then click the image button. Add any text you want then preview it to check it looks right. Obviously do not hit the submit reply button.

When you're happy with how it looks, copy all the text and code in the reply window then go to my settings/edit profile and paste the text into the signiture section. Preview to check it, submit it then Robert's your Father's Brother!

Chaz, it looks like you're still trying to link to your pic file on your hard drice - C:/My documents.....etc.

This is NOT how to do it!

You NEED to (as far as i know anyway) get a photo album set up for you by an admin of this site (send a PM to David), and then upload your car pic into your album.

A signature pic must be 175 x 150 pixels, and no larger than 25kb and when you get it into an album, you can post the pic by typing something like this:-

http://www.uk-mkivs.net/upload/members/........../,

where ........... is your user name (chaz [;)] ) and ,,,,,,,,,, is the name of the pic, i.e. - golf2.JPG

NOTICE -- use the name AND the .JPG extension in this link.

ALSO NOTICE -- use this: ......... around it, and NOT the 'img' bit either side with the whole lot in square brackets as you tried before[!]

Thats the way i did mine anyway. It might sound like it, but i'm not trying to come accross as a smart ***, just wanna emphasise what not to do, and let you know where you went wrong before and let you know how to correct it, and help you out [:)]

Hope you get it right, post here or PM me if you're still stuck mate.

Hmmmmm..........nearly there!

OK, thats essentially what you need to put where the first little-red-cross-in-a-box thing is on my first post!! where you put your user name and picture name in.

Right, before and after this put - use square brackets, so you get:

[img]http://www.uk-mkivs.net/upload/members/.........../,[img] (see next post now!)

Right, still with me?

Good, right change the last 'img' bit to [/img]

Notice the addition of the / symbol

Couldnt put it all in one message, cos it just kept giving me those error pictur things, but there ya go, that should do it if you can follow that.

Probably would have been easier to email you, but only just thought of doing that now ive gone through all this........typical!

Oh well, hope it works for you :)

Thanks for the help but i dont think i've ever been as confused as you've just made me!! This pic lark is becoming more of a pain in the ass than i could ever have imagined. Can you not see the pic i posted? it took a few attemps but i can see one so i thought i was doing it right. Maybe not. i have pm David for photo album but it always comes up with errors! Im not a real computer wiz so maybe i should just leave it, as much as i dont want to. I have made the photos the right size and all but it just doesn't do it!!!!!
