Should my car be venting boost while still under acceleration ?

When I pull away normally, I can hear my CAI take in air but then dump it again around 2K rpm before I change gear (around 4k [:I]). I thought it may of been the DV (ive got an uprated AMD Viper) but service it every month and it still does it. MAF has just been replaced and no faults as per Wilko last VAG.com test about 1 month ago. I replaced the battery the weekend and the car ran wicked for about an hour then went back to normal.

Ive messed around with the boost settings on my SPS 3 and its still the same. No matter what I run.

Would changing the N75 to the J variaint help ?

Any one got any Theorys ?

Cheers Glen

Should exand on the above! There's no other point after the turbo except the DV that can leak boost in the fashion you've stated above.

If it was a boost leak from an intercooler hose, or other connecting hose then it would be more apparent and you would be down on power.

If anything the car has got worse when putting the stock DV on. Ive checked all the pipes and hoses and all are tight and not leaking.

It seems that the car is letting the vacum on the DV go while im still accellerating which give me a "hic-cup" feeling and dumping the boost through the cai. The car is running like a pile of poo poo two. It does it the worst when staring from cold or driving slowly / pulling away in low gears. I thought the car was about to stall this morning it was that bad.

With the uprated DV it still does it but not as bad. Could there been a problem with the wastegate (N75) ? or should I look at uprating my spring on the AMD DV's ?

Glen. Coolant temperature sensor me thinks. Might sound odd, but if yours is on it's way out you get all kinds of odd fueling issues which cause hickups. They're about ?10 from vag and it's a 2 min job to fit. Worth a try as they're about as reliable as mafs.

If you're getting poor mpg aswell then that's probably the problem. Easy yo fit. Take of engine cover. Look down right hand side of engine (maf side). Theres a little round thing with a connector on it. Remove connector, slide the retaining clip out and pull the sensor out. Fitting is the reverse. Should take less than a minute.

<RANT> Fing car now it's gone in to limp mode. Just went with a guy from work to get some lunch. Car was jerking all around the place while driving slow in low gears. Then the dv was venting bosot all the way in 1st and 2nd gear. After that the car went into limp mode. <RANT OVER>

Im pulling my hair out now. stupid car.
