would it not be better to shave down the adaptors/spacers a little if you have them as it will allow the wheel to travel up inside the arch rather than make contact with it

lets be honest what use is a car without suspension? and the stiffer the suspension is the more it will bounce and the worse the ride and more importantly the handling will be [*-)]

and to answer your first question, NO these will not help you get lower
