Hi All.

Ive been quoted ?700 all in. This didnt sound to bad to me but do you think this is all right??

Cheers

Ill hopefully get a little discount on that tho, My mate is a Salesman there so hes gonna see what he can do. The good thing is im getting his Bora TDI 150 to play with so at least I wont have to put up with the good old Polo[^]. I must admit this dealership has been very good all round so far when Ive dealt with them in the past but I shall see what Wednesday brings!!

Spencert,

How did you find wayside in letchworth?? been there a couple of times when my brother was looking for a passat or a sharan and wasnt that taken with em, I use Vindis in St.Ives and always find them great (so far!)Although wayside would be closer with me also living in Royston.

I find them okay to be honest, I had some warranty work done

there earlier in the year when my gearbox died, it took them a

week of messing around, before they decided it would be easier

just to replace it. Haven't had any real problems with them tbh,

you will only ever get a 1.2 polo as a loaner though .

My sister bought her polo from Vindis StIves, the sales chap

was sound but I don't know about their servicing dept, you could

try Vindis at Sawston, one of my work colleagues has used

them and said they were okay.

Yeah a mate of mine is in Sales at Vindis, St Ives. A top bloke Dave and another nice sales guy is Colin. They always seem enthusiastic about the cars especially Gti, R32 etc etc. The service dept staff always seem happy to help to.[^] I think this helps when you book your car in for something and you know where its going they are happy/enthusiastic about the car etc. As for the Sawston branch,I work fairly close to it, went into the forecourt the other evening on the way home cos hes got a rather nice blue R32 in there for sale at the mo (I can dream!!)

Righty ho then.. had the 60k service today.. grand total ?222.58

(but that includes about ?25 off.. I guess cos I know them quite well there and a mate of mine has worked there for years.)

Normal annual service stuff, it was a 20,000 mile interval service schedule, plus tracking, MOT, and some time spent on an apparently faulty central locking unit (it's going back in on the 7th January to be looked at properly), key battery etc..

I asked for the pulling to the left to be looked at.. (I explained that I was aware that mk4 golfs had atendency to pull to the left slightly), they agreed that it does pull to the left a bit and the techy thought it was a little more than normal.. but tyre pressures, tracking and bushes etc are all okay.. sooooo what else could it be ?

Other than that.. quite pleased ! I was expecting the worst.. say ?400-?500.. so pretty happy with ?222 [:D] Another positive stealer dealer experience for me [!] [:D]

Is that for a 1.8T?? If so did that include the cam belt??

Yes and no ! Sorry.. it's late ! [:D]

UPDATE - I had my cambelt done in october @ 58000 (ish).. came to ?305, iirc [!] [:D]
