When I was at the Motor show last years I notice a Fabia which had some kind of Teflon type body work protection. I asked the dealer about it and they said they could do it for about ?200. Sine then I have been trying to get my hands on the stuff, apparently there are a few different kinds but dealers don't sell it, they buy in packs for about ?200 which treats 4 cars (nice profit). They claim it lasts about 2 -3 years. Does anyone else know about this? Is it any good? If so where can I get it without someone putting their job on the line? If not what is the best at the moment?

Thanks

I've always used Diamond Brite Ultraseal on my car. Works really well, easy to apply and keeps the car really shiney for ages. It's one of those ones that dealers charge ?200 to apply, but I managed to find a supplier that will sell the full kits for ?30!

If u would like some, then send me a pm and I'll get one for ya

Depends what you want from the products really, and if you like waxing your car or not...

Quite a few different things on the market for this type of thing, mainly main dealer/specialist applied due to guarantees etc. All are slightly different in there treatments but AutoGlym, AutoSmart, DiamondBrite are some of the more well known brands.

Squeaky_clean will have a good idea about this type of product as well.

I don't mind polishing the car but it gets used daily and isn't garaged so in summer I feel it needs done weekly which is a bit of a bind and in Winter, well forget it it just doesn't get done which I am not very happy about. I am now sure Diamond Brite was what i saw, ti those that have used it, is it good? Does it do what it says and how long does it last?

Basically the kit's that I can get consist of

2 Stage Diamond Brite Body protection (2 Bottles)

1 Can of Interior fabric spray (Basically ScotchGaurd type stuff)

1 Bottle of Car Shampoo

1 Bottle of Preserver (it's like liquid wax that you add to a bucket of water to preserve the shine)

Application couldn't be easier.

1 - Wash and dry the car. Clay bar if you wish

2 - Apply stage 1 all over the paintwork. It's like a watery liquid - just wipe on with a cloth/sponge. EASY TO APPLY!!

3 - Allow this to dry for about 20mins

4 - Apply Stage2 ONTOP of stage1. This is like a liquid wax - so VERY EASY to apply!!

5 - Allow this to dry for 20mins

6 - Once everything is DRY, then BUFF OFF all the dried stuff with a soft cloth, or better still use a nice quality MICROFIBRE.

7 - Stand back and admire your car!

Now the shine is supposed to last for upto 6years. I don't reckon that it would last 6years! More like 12 months! BUT the GOOD NEWS IS, you get enough STAGE 1 and 2 that you could do your golf about 3 or 4 TIMES BEFORE RUNNING OUT!! So it is abit of a bargain that you can buy these kits for around ?25-30 (and dealers charge anything from ?200++)

It does help keep the car cleaner for longer, and it will make washing the car easier, and the dirt wont stick on so hard.

There is also a bottle of shampoo, but you can use ANY shampoo to wash your car.

But the CONSERVER is really good. Pour some into a bucket, and sponge down your car (After its been washed). Then hose the car down, and be amazed at how the water just BEADS off the paint work!

As I have said, I've been more than happy with this stuff. There are other products out there that are sold by dealers, and are pretty much the same.

I guess it all boils down to how much you can get them for.

A Diamond Brite kit can do about 3-4 Golf Sized cars, so for ?25-30 its well worth going for.

If Josh says you can get them for a ?10 on EBAY, then GO FOR IT!!

I can get them for ?25 from a guy in the trade, but if u get lucky on Ebay, then DO IT!

wallace Posted - 09 Jan 2005 : 21:01:44 Second thoughts, the guy who offered me a kit seems to have disappeared off the scene and ?20 sounds good for the complete kit, could you getme one too?

Thanks

Wallace

Not disapeared at all....I just sit back and let you decide if you want a kit or not......

If anyone is interested i can do the a,b,c,products from Autoglym lifeshine for ?25.00. These are the products that joe public CANNOT get.

A= Aminofunctional polymer sealant.

B= Fabric/Leather guard.

c= Glass Guard.

You dont need a conserver wash/wax as like the dualultra kit....
