I stopped by a a local Seat dealer this afternoon as I saw they had a Leon Cupra R in the showroom.

I like this car a lot, what are your thoughts on it?

Sure is a lot of car for the money and i'm tempted []

When was the "R" version released as this is the only model with brembos?

How much can a used one be bought for as the stealer reckons there are very few used models about?

I'm interested in these too. They were only made in 5 colours i believe, Red, Silver, Black, Red & Yellow. Looking on Autotrader you're looking at a bout ?14-15k for a nice one (they're all nice though!) I've bbeen driven about in one and they are very fast plus the interior is OK now aswell (being VAG). Don't quite have the noise that my V5 makes though!!!

yes they are really really nice but only time will tell as about how much they will lose money as you know vw and audi dont lose as much as skoda or seat so just becarefull what you buy as a new one of these are about 18k well you will be lucky to get a 3 years old S3 OR R32 for that money

Earlier cars were 210bhp, current cars are 225bhp, Recaros are an optional extra about 1k extra

What's the difference between the 210 and 225, just a different ECU map?

Does the 210 have brembos?

Both the 210bhp and 225bhp have the brembo's.

I think (but don't quote me on this one) that there's hardly any difference between the two, probably just a mild remap of the ecu (e.g. boost).

Been looking at one myself, but i want a second hand black one and they appear to be like gold dust!! They do look the nuts don't they.

Would a Revo'd 210 give the same figures as a Revo'd 225 then?

Quite probably..... tis exactly the same kind of 'de-tune' that the S3 had.... that went from 210 to 225. So yeah, it should chip identically... worthwhile remembering if buying used i guess!

When i change cars in a couple of years itll either be one of those or an S3 - the choice is that easy! []

I was reading a post on seatcupra.net yesterday and there are one or two Cupra R's going for just short of 12k.

Both the 210 and the 225 have brembo's as standard.

Luuurrrrvve the Cupra R wheels, and I think they look really 'purposeful' in the rear view mirror[] Quite difficult sometimes to keep them there though[]

They are gorgeous to look at and they drive nice as well - bit of a bargain IMO

OOOH thats harsh!

The interior in mine is spot on. OK its not red and blue at night but thats the only thing I like less than the golf. I sat in my mates S3 and his interior is practically the same as mine. The main difference was he had a double din head unit and his climate control unit was sat lower down.

I get no rattles or squeeks from the dash either unlike my old golf.

yes but at the end of the day it is seat and they used chepper plastikes in skoda and seat ps i an runing a tdi 130 golf and in next 3 monthes it will be 225 bhp with bigger turbo and miltex and indution kit and i can not wait till RS3 when the kids are all out off house and 30 k out of pocket but iwill be happy ;-}

They are top notch IMO. Loads of car for the money and my fave colour is Red then black they look the dogs.

I think the interior is pretty good to be honest. They've got the same seats as the anni golf but without the red stitching. It's a hell of a lot of car for the money imo.
