It is in Auto Express this week again against other more expensive fast diesels. It came last mainly due to the hard ride but what a car!

Out the box performance of 0-60 in 7 secs and touching 140mph top end!

Phenomenal stuff!

I sat in one yesterday when at my Seat dealers. Don't like it to be honest.... the Leon gets loads of stick for it's "cheap" interior, but the Ibiza is a lot lot poorer. You seem to be paying all that money for the engine.. because they obviously didn't hire a design team! []

So true.. if the interior would be better I would perhaps buy an Ibiza again, because I really dont need a big car. But its just so bad! I might be able to live with the dashboard, but the doorcards are so dull that I wanna puke []

I had a test drive of the Ibiza Cupra TDI before I got the Fabia vRS.

Even though the Fabia is slower, it won hands down for feel of quality!

Is the engine just a 150 PD with different programme?

I thought the Ibiza was ok when I tested it for my girlfriend before she got her mini. Admittedly it is not on the same quality level as the mini or any VW but it was not that bad.

The other car was a Toerag V10 TDi. It was all about high power diesels!

OOOOOh!!! Now your talking that v10 Tourag is awesome. Had a test drive in one before chrsitmas for an hour or so and it is undeasabley fast for something that big and running on oil.

I saw a review against a Clio 182 - a fairer bet IMO.

That V10 toureg, tho'...... mmmmmm. I saw 3 being driven along the M8 (must've been enroute to stealers) at 60, one after another. The drivers must've been bursting!

As I recall from the test of the Ibiza 160PD v Clio 182, there was little difference in the performance figures. I am sure a Revo on the PD would sort that though []

Still, it would not have the rawness of the Clio...
